LTNs save lives. Cycle lanes save lives and make sustainable and healthy transport more inclusive. if you object to LTNs and cycle lanes you’re a sociopath 😊

Just fabulous to see so many people out enjoying Hammersmith Bridge on Easter Sunday. 🥰 Hard to imagine six years ago this had 20,000+ motor vehicles on it every day. 😊 Now it is dedicated to walking and wheeling 👍

Even a founder of the most anti-LTN group in Britain can’t commit to removing LTNs in her policy proposals to the electorate. Reality bites even the most committed ideologues. Not that she’d have any hope as one Councillor of changing anything if she won. Which she won’t 😊

@OpenChiswickW4 What worries me is how many people claiming to be retired doctors or teachers go down this route. People I would expect to be open minded and analytic, open to logic and reasoned argument.

I love it when anti-LTN obsessive nutters stand for election or crowd fund. They always get shown up for how niche and weird their world view really is. Now I get to watch one of the strangest of them all crash and burn on both fronts. Delicious 😊

Cycling Derangement Syndrome should automatically disqualify anybody who suffers from it from the UK legislature
Sarah Ludford 🇬🇧 🇮🇪🇪🇺 🇺🇦@SarahLudford

Failure to crack down on widespread lawlessness & ASB by @limebike & its users is one of the wonders of life in London. It’s true that major crime is down, but shoplifting, uncontrolled ebikes, fare-dodging etc are all dispiriting, which @SadiqKhan ought to care about but doesn’t

@OpenChiswickW4 Clair received just 150 votes last time. What's the opposite of 'finger on the pulse'? Also, she does that 'newcomer' bit where unless you're born and bred in Hackney and drive a cab, you're considered irrelevant.

Anyone in this area in Tottenham should do this. This is how we developed the fantastically successful South Chiswick Liveable Neighbourhood. As I walk and cycle with my kids there is nothing better than seeing the impact of the changes I recommended to restrict rat running.

Three more people killed by London buses. London bus drivers kill somebody every month. And still people argue we should force women and children to cycle with buses instead of giving them the safe cycle infrastructure that is proven to save lives. standard.co.uk/news/transport…

Only people with the most severe and advanced cases of Cycling Derangement Syndrome could doubt evidence that cycling is healthier than driving.

@JohnJohnStewart We're used to manipulated data, though, aren't we? Large pinches of salt needed when reading any reports by cycling zealots.

Transport for London has just announced a trial for advanced, high-tech “stealth” speed cameras across the capital, and several West London boroughs are officially on the list. Unlike the old yellow boxes, these new cameras do NOT flash and do not require white lines painted on the road. Using advanced 4D imaging radar, a single camera can monitor speed, distance, elevation, and direction across five lanes of bi-directional traffic all at once. The trial is specifically targeting 20mph and 30mph zones across nine London boroughs: 📍 Ealing 📍 Brent 📍 Hammersmith & Fulham 📍 Haringey 📍 Tower Hamlets 📍 Havering 📍 Croydon 📍 Hackney 📍 Sutton TfL states this upgrade is “vital” for consistent enforcement and reducing road casualties. However, the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) pointed out that since average speeds in London are already below 20mph, the focus should instead be on catching drivers illegally using their mobile phones at the wheel.

@CyclingLawLDN @JohnJohnStewart It makes no sense until you realise that he has become obsessed with the fallacy that cycling is directly oppositional to public transport. Diametrically so to the point that every £ spent on cycling is a £ taken from PT, every article on cycling is column space taken from PT etc

@JohnJohnStewart Surely not another pro cycling and walking article you disagree with and is claimed to be flawed. It literally states it compares the cost benefits of cycling v driving. It doesn’t take a genius to work out the cost difference for using public transport (if you pay for it).
