We just launched our new website for Ezra, the world's smartest AI interviewer: ezrarecruiting.com Every recruiter knows this problem: 500 inbound applications. 5 good candidates somewhere within those. Candidates ghosted. Ezra is fine-tuned on what you're looking for in an ideal candidate. It screens every candidate, evaluates them against your criteria, and identifies the best ones with video recordings, transcripts, scores, cheat / fraud detection, and compliant analysis. This is "AI + human recruiter deeply in the loop." Ezra handles the haystack; you handle the relationships with the needles. We've been astonished by the demand for this. Deeply thankful to our early enterprise customers (announcements to come) who are already using Ezra to cut screening time, improve the candidate experience, and hire better talent.

Again, I’ve reported this to OpenAI and will update this post if/when platform-level safeguards land. If you run a voice agent today (credit cards, banks, hospitals, airlines, universities) please sanity-check your setup.

Why this should worry MasterExpress (and anyone with a voice agent): -- It creates legal and brand risk, especially in regulated areas like credit, housing, healthcare, travel, or education. -- It’s easy to miss if you followed quick-start examples and let the browser do too much

The customer can replaces the rules with the their own rules. The agent then follows the new rules which may allow it to say inappropriate / illegal things on behalf of MasterExpress (for example, statements that sound discriminatory or unfair).

Imagine MasterExpress, a (fake) credit-card company, has a friendly voice agent that talks to customers. During a call, the customer can quietly feed hidden instructions to the agent from their browser that overwrite all of MasterExpress’ rules.

The issue relates to allowing a voice AI communicate with a client directly via WebRTC (a very common protocol). For example:

PSA: I discovered a vulnerability in OpenAI's voice AI API (Realtime API) that can make your voice agent say things you’d…never want it to say. I’ve reported it to OpenAI but, while they make a fix, I'm sharing here in case anyone is using voice AI agents with OpenAI’s Realtime

Voice AI state of the art in 2025 ... When Ophir Sampson showed me his AI interviewing and recruiting application, Ezra, the first thing I said to him was, that is really nicely thought through and executed. The second thing I said was, let's do this conversation again. Let's record it because anybody building an AI native application in 2025 should hear your thought process and see what you're doing. Every feature of Ezra is designed to leverage what LLMs can do. Ezra's real time voice conversations, which is the stuff I think a lot about, are impressive as standalone features, but they're even more impressive because of how they fit into the overall product design. Users interact with the platform and configure Ezra dynamically through voice conversations. Then job applicants participate in interview conversations with an AI agent. After that, they have access to personalized coaching and other features, which are different conversational modes, but build on the same core foundations inside the product. And every voice conversation becomes input to further analysis and to customization loops in the Ezra experience. Topics: Introduction to Voice AI and Ezra: An overview of the current state of voice AI and an introduction to Ezra, an AI-powered recruiting and interviewing platform. (00:00) Ophir Samson's background: Ophir has a PhD in applied math, an MBA, and is a repeat founder. (01:50) How Ezra works: A detailed explanation and demonstration of how Ezra's platform functions for both recruiters and candidates. (06:09) The future of voice AI: A discussion on the evolving landscape of voice AI, including challenges and future possibilities. (14:27) Ezra's cheat detection feature: An in-depth look at how Ezra detects cheating during AI-powered interviews. (11:57) The role of context in AI conversations: Exploring the importance of context in creating meaningful and effective AI-driven conversations. I'm thrilled to announce that Ezra AI Labs has raised a pre-seed round with participation from a16z speedrun, Telegraph Hill Capital, New Enterprise Associates (NEA) Angels Fund, and other strategic investors. Ezra is an AI interviewer that supercharges your recruiting teams. It learns your job, understands what you're looking for in a perfect candidate, conducts convenient and quick interviews with candidates, and evaluates them for you. It's built on top of my proprietary voice AI system that's low-latency and contextually-aware. After 18 months of solo development, what started as a simple question — can AI truly understand the human elements of hiring? — has evolved into something our early customers are finding transformative. I'm excited to work with Jonathan Lai at a16z speedrun as we scale. I'm now ready to grow the team (beyond just me!). If you're passionate about AI, recruiting, or building products that genuinely help people connect, I'd love to hear from you. ezraailabs.tech #AIStartup #VoiceAI #Recruiting #a16zspeedrun #Hiring #TalentAcquisition #ArtificialIntelligence #FutureOfWork #HRTech #VentureCapital
