@NUP_Ug Ah yes, the usual dramatic script. Evry time smthing doesn’t go their way, suddenly it’s bloodshed, regime violence, and goons appearing from the shadows. Meanwhile, the rest of the country is wondering why a simple campaign event somehow turns into full Ugawood action scene.
Our ninth campaign week ends with a bloodshed in Gulu city. The regime has facilitated and enabled violence against us days after they shielded hired goons who vandalized our Gulu city based offices. We were meant to campaign in Gulu city this afternoon but we have been preceded by violence. Our campaign materials at the venue were vandalized by goons under tight UPDF and police watch moments prior to our arrival.
We were greeted by army war vehicles and police trucks parked along Airfield Road in Gulu City. Armed military operatives wielding sticks pounced on us and brutalized our campaign team leaving comrade Dan Magic and others sustaining injuries. We had to abandon our vehicles and footed for over 5 kilometers to our campaign venue. Thankfully, we addressed our comrades and issued our message to the security forces who have made it a hobby to brutalize and harass us during campaigns.

@JoelSsenyonyi “Absolutely incredible how sm pple still pretend 2 be victims while enjoying free airtime 2 shout about ‘oppression. while, the NRM quietly carries on doing the heavy lifting of holding this country 2gthr. Bt yes, let’s all pretend that the ones causing drama are the real heroes.
Inspite of the provocation from people who were guarded by police and the military, our team remained calm and didn’t respond to the provocation.
I’m sure police was eagerly waiting for one of our people to even point a finger at the provokers and they would react.
One wonders, what would happen had it been NUP supporters who had raided a campaign of the NRM. They would now be in some torture basement, if not the grave!
These are all signs of cowardice and desperation by the NRM regime, but Uganda will be free!!
QUOTE OF THE DAY -- NUP Party president Robert Kyagulanyi: “While he’s apologising, our brothers are in basements being tortured. Our sisters are being raped. Our people are still being driven off their lands, we are not allowed to be human beings on our land. While I stand here, I say to Museveni, apology not accepted." #MonitorUpdates
@wuupiuu@DailyMonitor Even if they don't take the apology, the taxes from Buganda will still continue feeding museveni, and most interesting is that the same money will still be used by the son to teach more people Runyankole.
@Opiofred002@DailyMonitor Let's take a moment. If the Kabaka accepted the apology, would it make good for those tortured and in jail? I think in section '... mostly to buganda' of the apology, anyone from the region that is affected is addressed, hence may or may not take the apology
President @KagutaMuseveni and his wife @JanetMuseveni apologised to Buganda and Uganda for the mistakes made during their leadership.
List at least three mistakes made during Mr Museveni's four-decade regime that you would forgive him and his wife for.

@Adyx256@SsemujjuNganda1 That's not how court system works. We deal with pettittioned filed and evidence presented keeping in mind that he who alleges must prove.
@SsemujjuNganda1 That shows the weakness of the judiciary committee of the country. Coz hw can they wait till now yet they had enough tym to say something be4 official announcement and sworn in of the candidate 😴😴😴😴😴
There are these wrong elements in the judiciary that we need to deal with. How can you say someone who voted was denied a chance to vote, how, why? What has gone wrong with common sense? What drug do you use? Well, we shall bring hell to you, all the criminals in the judiciary.
@SsemujjuNganda1 Ssemujju’s rant isn’t about justice—it’s a tantrum. You don’t defend democracy by threatening judges or spewing conspiracy theories. If someone voted, the records will show it. If not, prove it. But don’t drag the judiciary through the mud because things didn’t go your way.
What makes you risk your life so recklessly?
Do you really need @PoliceUg to remind you that your life is in danger? Absolutely not! So why engage in such dangerous behavior if you're not ready to face the consequences?
In Mpigi, drivers attempted to flee after being intercepted by police @ Lungala —thanks to concerned road users who provided video evidence & information. Both the drivers & passengers involved have been charged & the vehicles were impounded @Mpigipolice.
We urge the public to always prioritize road safety.
