Saw all kinds of excuses for Slot’s off-ball coaching this season. It shows people can come up with excuses for anything if they try hard enough. You cannot simultaneously be poor at coaching a high press, mid-block, defending transitions & defending set-pieces which is what that Liverpool run vs Chelsea, Man Utd & Aston Villa perfectly summarised for the whole season. There is simply no excuse for that which relates to how the squad has been compiled. It is a byproduct of not treating defending seriously enough on the training ground.

Bayern getting plenty of joy from going long to Kane & Diaz. Dealing with this type of direct play is PSG’s biggest defensive weakness, they don’t win the initial aerial or collapse on the 2nd balls. Olise also playing superb vs Nuno. PSG on the other hand are almost unpressable. Constantly playing around then thru Bayern’s press. They are also clinically exploiting Bayern bombing both full-backs forwards. Next goal is crucial to the tie. Bayern have to be very careful to not concede it and may have to adjust the aggression of his press and would probably do Laimer for Stanisic, to help stop PSG’s left flank.
