@Orchardvale1 @Anna_Soubry There’s no need for all that bureaucracy after Brexit; it’s a failure of the UK government’s negotiating, and the EU’s desire to punish us for leaving. And yet, our exports are still up since we left!

@Rod__Mason @Anna_Soubry And completely screw up businesses that can no longer trade with the EU because of delays caused by massive bureaucracy and boy are we good at bureaucracy

@Anna_Soubry That’s not true. The benefits of Brexit are exactly as promised: taking back control from the EU over our law making, state spending, global trade policy, and immigration rules.

Telling a Judge that the defendant didn’t do anything wrong when he broke the law because the law was a bad one is not a good idea especially if the defendant had actually made that law in the first place. Yup the #Conservatives remain unfit for office
Paul Waugh MP@paulwaugh

Kemi Badenoch suggests to @bbclaurak that the problem with Partygate was not Johnson and his No10 team breaking Covid rules, the problem was the rules themselves. The Tories really haven’t learned anything have they?

@MartinSLewis I started a debate on the telegraph on this best to pay your bill in full by direct debit at the end of the month. Works out the same

I'm staggered by this. Something is wrong, unless you've as huge energy bill (eg £1,500+/mth) thats far too much credit, I'm hoping it is just a misunderstanding. I'd suggest you - Do a meter reading - Check the bill has been updated - Check the direct debit is roughly right (calcs on my site) - Call up and politely ask them to justify why this amount of credit. If it can't ask for the excess credit back Re @OVOEnergy
Ian Jons@Essentialrhythm

@GMB @MartinSLewis My energy supplier is OVO. I am in credit by £2,300 but I am being told by them that this money helps the company support people in arrears. Hold on this is MY money not theirs & I want it back!

I’m not quite sure how to explain what’s happened tonight, because it’s still happening - but here goes… At 4:40pm I jumped on a train from London to Edinburgh.. It was comfy, it was quiet In hindsight, too good to last…

@JamesNokise Broken Britain again. Here’s a good one. A friend runs a business that delivers aero engines all over Europe He has a special vehicle for the work. Delivering an engine with all the correct paperwork has his his vehicle impounded and has to pay the duty because the cradle was

But not under this Conservative Govt given they’ve been in power for 13 years & our country is pretty much broken.

@MaxJLHardy @Anna_Soubry When I first became a magistrate we had 12 courts In various locations. This has all now been shoe horned in to one small court and a box room in the crown court. Something is terribly wrong with our criminal justice system

Much has been written about the practicality and viability of forcing offenders to attend sentencing. In reality refusers are rare, most want to know their fate. What’s not rare is huge delay between conviction and sentence. That’s inimical to justice and unfair to victims.

@Anna_Soubry Anna. You are a respected politician. Can’t you get the labour centre to join with the Lib Dems to thrash this lot. I’m a conservative voter all my life but have no time for the Downing St BUFFOON

Utter twaddle. #Frost is yet another ideologue who when faced with #BrexitReality - bottled it & ran away. On every level and in every way #Brexit is bad for Britain. Brexit was built on lies peddled by ideological charlatans. Leaving the #EU has been a dreadful mistake.
Tim Stanley@timothy_stanley

Lord Frost going is a big moment in the history of this administration: essential to Brexit process, a standard-bearer for philosophical conservatism, a man of serious capability and principle. Suspect this will have repercussions.

@mrjamesob My company played a small part in the manufacturing of the ventilators that were actually made and delivered on time. I have seen nothing from the government acknowledging the huge effort and organisations that was needed

He did it *instead* of accepting help from companies with experience and/or relevant expertise that also pay tax to the Treasury that funds the NHS. And it is very hard to find anyone who thought Dyson would produce any ventilators. (He didn’t.) So dodgy, rum & sleazy covers it.
BBC Politics@BBCPolitics

"If you think there is anything remotely dodgy or rum or sleazy about trying to secure more ventilators at a time of a national pandemic... I think you're out of your mind," says Boris Johnson The PM defends his text messages to James Dyson about tax bbc.in/3xkZ5in
