Telling a Judge that the defendant didn’t do anything wrong when he broke the law because the law was a bad one is not a good idea especially if the defendant had actually made that law in the first place.

I'm staggered by this. Something is wrong, unless you've as huge energy bill (eg £1,500+/mth) thats far too much credit, I'm hoping it is just a misunderstanding. I'd suggest you
- Do a meter reading
- Check the bill has been updated
- Check the direct debit is roughly right (calcs on my site)
- Call up and politely ask them to justify why this amount of credit. If it can't ask for the excess credit back

@MaxJLHardy @Anna_Soubry When I first became a magistrate we had 12 courts In various locations. This has all now been shoe horned in to one small court and a box room in the crown court. Something is terribly wrong with our criminal justice system

Much has been written about the practicality and viability of forcing offenders to attend sentencing. In reality refusers are rare, most want to know their fate. What’s not rare is huge delay between conviction and sentence. That’s inimical to justice and unfair to victims.

He did it *instead* of accepting help from companies with experience and/or relevant expertise that also pay tax to the Treasury that funds the NHS. And it is very hard to find anyone who thought Dyson would produce any ventilators. (He didn’t.) So dodgy, rum & sleazy covers it.
