Why Nigerians Must Pay Attention to the Senate’s Stand on Real-Time E-transmission of Election Results. Nigerians, this is not just politics. This is about your vote, your voice, and your future. 🇳🇬 The 10th Senate, led by Godswill Akpabio, is refusing to make real-time electronic transmission of election results mandatory. Instead, they are adding conditions. Let’s break it down: They are saying results can be transmitted electronically... BUT Not necessarily in real-time Manual collation can still be used. Why keep manual options open in 2027? 🤔 We all know what happens with manual collation: 📌 Delays 📌 Tampering 📌 Disputed results We’ve seen this movie before. Real-time electronic transmission means: ✔️ Results are uploaded instantly ✔️ No room for alteration ✔️ Full transparency So why avoid making it compulsory? Let’s be honest this “condition” creates a loophole. A loophole big enough for: 👉 Manipulation 👉 Result doctoring 👉 Electoral fraud. They say it’s about “network issues” and “technical challenges.” But the question is: Are we fixing the system or protecting its weaknesses? Fulani bandits reportedly attacked the Aso community this morning, near a primary school in the Maraba/Masaka axis on the outskirts of Abuja. During the attack, residents were assaulted, vehicles were destroyed, and several houses were set ablaze by the militants. Reports indicate that youths in the community managed to apprehend one of the attackers. According to eyewitness accounts, the incident may have been triggered by an altercation the previous day, in which a Fulani boy allegedly killed a young man’s pig. The man reportedly confronted the boy, after which a large group of Fulani individuals returned to the area this morning, attacking residents, burning cars and houses, and causing significant destruction to lives and property.
