Following the successful conclusion of the Sustainable Building and Construction Summit in Lausanne, I had the opportunity to travel to Bern with colleagues and enjoy an incredible and enriching tour of the city.

At the Sustainable Building and Construction Summit in Lausanne, Switzerland, I had the pleasure of delivering a presentation on Energy Efficiency in Buildings in Somalia. I highlighted the critical nexus between energy and the building sector, emphasizing the need to improve construction practices to achieve greater efficiency and sustainability. The presentation underscored the importance of aligning energy and building policies to create a coherent framework that supports low-carbon development. Arrived in Lausanne, Switzerland to participate in the Sustainable Building and Construction Summit, which opened today. This summit marks an important step forward in advancing the transition toward a zero-emissions, efficient, and resilient building and construction sector. During the Summit, I will present Somalia’s efforts in sustainable building and construction—sharing practical experiences, highlighting national priorities, and addressing key gaps and challenges in advancing a resilient and low-emission built environment.

President @HassanSMohamud participated the Antalya Diplomacy Forum. Speaking at high level panel, He addressed a range of critical issues, including regional dynamics, role of diplomacy, Israel’s violent aggression to recognize Somaliland and among other significant issues.

Honored to attend the #COP31 participatory meeting today organized by @MoECC_Somalia. This preparatory engagement aims to bring together key stakeholders and government line ministries to actively contribute toward achieving Somalia’s overall climate goals. A valuable platform to set the stage forward—discussing and charting Somalia’s national climate agenda, with a strong focus on climate finance for adaptation, mitigation, and other key thematic priority areas.

The Ministry of Public Works, Reconstruction and Housing of Somalia (MPWR) and ADHI have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to accelerate housing development across Somalia. The agreement was signed by the Director General of the Ministry of Public Works of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hon. Farah Abdinoor, on behalf of the Ministry.
