This post went nuts 🤣 it's like somebody unkinked a garden hose.
Glad we are all finding each other. Better late than never.
Nice to meet you all - I have ALOT of following back to do!
Wilson Dunham Farms@wilson_dunham_f
I seem to have suddenly found (and followed !) a bunch of new to me real, human run SmallAg, Homesteading & Permaculture accounts. I don't know why I'm suddenly running across them all of the sudden here, but I'm not complaining ;-)
English

@Osborne Nah, the next one will just make the same mistakes on their own 😂
English

@bowtiedfarmer @TURBOPOSSUM Hang in there. Seems like everyone’s chasing MRR - hope it works out!
English

@Osborne @TURBOPOSSUM It’s a she, it’s a service, and yes it’s otherwise easy money. But my patience is running thin
English

@ravenousreader Ended up there after searching “what’s like Gatlinburg but not a tourist trap?” And it said the middle of AR. Lo and behold it was right.
(Also nearly made it to Ava for Mass but timing was off!)
English

@metastition Ha.
At this point - oldest is 18 - my body has just accepted tired as the baseline. I’m anticipating crazy energy in my 60s when they’re all out of the house.
English

@AppyOrtho I’m sure I’ve said this before, but I deeply appreciate your respect for Catholicism. I know the differences between it and Orthodoxy, but in the grand scheme they are small and human. So much to behold within both.
Someday…
English

@BasedTorba Yes. People are so desperate for info that their filters are increasingly weak.
English

@TURBOPOSSUM @bowtiedfarmer Bingo. If the guy is otherwise a PITA, cut him loose. But sounds like it could be easy money.
English

@Osborne @bowtiedfarmer “I paid late because I’m busy and maybe a little entitled and this amount doesn’t merit my attention” is a real type of rich guy. In either case, getting him to give you a cc auth and auto billing him is the solution.
English

@BorisBartlog @Empty_America Maybe they came free with a house. I can imagine the donkeys loaded down with the building materials lol
English

@Empty_America 'brays with gentility' is some fine advertising copy
You used to be able to order houses from them, too. They'd send a guy out to assemble it for you.
English

You can get Burros for free right now from the government, the Bureau of Land Management is always trying to give them away.
Demand is suprisingly low!
Historyland@HistorylandHQ
Believe it or not, Sears once sold donkeys through their catalog-and yes, they'd be shipped right to you by train! (1950s)

@longstoryfarms Ah, I love this. Sounds like one of those stations that broadcasts a local swap meet on Saturday mornings.
"Miss Donna has a couple of old roosters to get rid of. Doesn't want anything for them. Call her at 555-5555"
English

Yesterday a lady from the local radio station came by to kind of get an idea what we were doing with the store. We were talking demographics for about 10 secs because they are a little station that does 100% local stuff like the local college and HS sports and they read the obituaries at noon every day and they don’t know exactly who listens but I love it so much that we are going to jump in with an ad program: 20 spots a month for a very reasonable rate.
Our town has the potential to be like those communities that buy from each other and we all prosper because of it and I want to be a part of that. WKDK!
