@OsteoF @laurawershler @cspotweet @KathrynMathias1 Most of the world prefers permanent DST. They just call it “Standard Time” since they don’t change their clocks. Plenty of places use DST for standard time and switch to double DST in summer for late sunsets in the evening.

Their Southernmost large city is as far South as Edmonton is North. Both see solar noon in the summer at about 1:40pm. Alaska uses DST for standard and does double-DST in summer.

@cspotweet @KathrynMathias1 We did a consultation, a referendum on permanent DST, and Albertans said no. Now ask us if we want to move to permanent Standard Time. Albertans will probably say yes.
