I’m glad Jorge has dropped out of the ai project, but I wouldn’t be so quick to forgive him, he betrayed his principals for a pay check, if he wants to be respected again he’s going to have to earn it, but at the end of the day, I’m glad he’s out of it, it’s a start

I have decided to drop out of the AI program at Amazon. I will not be making a Punky Duck series. Actions speak louder than words. My intent was to showcase artists, both new and seasoned, both inside and outside the studios, driving this new tech. My sincerest apology to those I upset. I promise to do better moving forward. But if a studio demands AI be used or else, then that’s a big red flag.

He cared about getting his show made and the compromise from the studio executives was to find the cheapest way to do it with AI. There's a reason why no studio will fund a 2D animated project using traditional cel inking instead of digital
