Charles "Charlie" Brown's B-17F Flying Fortress Ye Olde Pub of the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) was severely damaged by German fighters, and had fallen out of formation, left behind by other bombers with only a few engines running. Luftwaffe pilot Franz Stigler was on the ground, repairing a bullet lodged in his radiator, when Brown's aircraft flew low nearby his airfield. Stigler saw this an opportunity to score the last kill of a bomber kill award. When Stigler intercepted the bomber, he had the opportunity to shoot down the crippled bomber but did not do so, and instead escorted it over and past German-occupied territory so as to protect it. The American bomber aimed the roof mounted turret at Stigler under Brown's request, but did not open fire as Stigler descended. When they left occupied coasts, Stigler saluted Brown from the left side of the aircraft and flew back home. After an extensive search by Brown, the two pilots met each other 50 years later and developed a friendship that lasted until Stigler's death in March 2008. Brown died 8 months later, in November of the same year.

So in December 2025 my daughter told us she had melanoma and it had metastasized to her lung, left breast and colon, needless to say we were devastated. She had surgery for the cancer in her colon and it was successful. She started treatment for the cancer in her lung and breast and after 2 treatments the cancer shrunk from 6cm to 4cm, so we had a ray of hope. She began having issues with her hemoglobin dropping after treatments. She had to start blood transfusion to bring her numbers up, this happened after every treatment. This began to take its toll on Natalie. She would visit me at the coffee shop and began to cry and it broke my heart. We have had our church people all praying for her along with hundreds more, including friends and family. Tonight my daughter face timed me (something she never does) and she was crying, my heart almost stopped beating, I was afraid that she was about to tell us the cancer had spread. She wiped her eyes and said the doctor had sent an email to Eddy (her husband) and said he couldn’t wait until tomorrow to tell him that Natalie was 100% cancer FREE. This was incredible news. I made this post just to testify to the glory of God that miracles still happen. We give God all the glory. During the call with my daughter I could see that twinkle back in her eyes, it had not been there for several months. I am beside myself with joy and look forward to seeing her beautiful smile. I stopped talking to my girlfriend for 2 weeks because I was busy studying Elon Musk. I was shocked when I found this. Elon Musk was turned away from a job at Netscape in 1995. He drove to their office. Walked into the lobby. Stood there waiting to talk to anyone who would hire him. Nobody came. He stood in the lobby of Netscape for an entire day and not a single person acknowledged him. He was 24 years old. Broke. Sleeping on a futon. Showering at the YMCA. He had just arrived in Silicon Valley with nothing except a physics degree and an internet connection. The rejection wasn't polite. It wasn't a "we'll call you." It was the complete absence of acknowledgment. He literally did not matter enough for anyone to walk over and say no to his face. He left. He went back to his apartment. And he decided that if nobody would hire him, he'd build something himself. Three years later he sold his first company for $307 million. Eight years after standing in that lobby, he was worth $180 million from PayPal. Thirteen years after being invisible in that lobby, he was launching rockets into orbit. Twenty-eight years after nobody would look at him, he became the richest human being who has ever lived. The lobby is still there. Netscape isn't. This is what people get wrong about success stories. He interpreted the rejection as information about Netscape, not about himself. "If they can't see what I have, they don't deserve what I'll build." The lobby became his fuel. The same rejection. Two completely different interpretations. Two completely different lives. I think about this whenever I face rejection in my own life. A deal that falls through. A post that gets no engagement. A person who doesn't see the vision. The question isn't whether you'll stand in a lobby. Everyone stands in a lobby. The question is whether the lobby becomes your ceiling or your fuel. Netscape hired someone else that day. Whoever they hired has been forgotten by history. The kid they ignored became Elon Musk. Your lobby is not your destiny. It's your origin story. But only if you leave it and build.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent outmaneuvering economic adversaries at the table. A team of battle-tested leaders—Robert F. Kennedy Jr. at HHS restoring trust in public health, Doug Burgum securing our energy dominance, and so many more—who were chosen for excellence, not loyalty to the swamp. No more cabinet filled with placeholders and ideologues. These are results-oriented Americans who show up prepared, speak plainly, and deliver for our country. Watching our delegation move with purpose in Beijing reminds me why elections matter. We went from weakness and drift to strength and strategy. God bless this President and this Cabinet.
