@NJ_Timothy It was also explicit Conservative policy (while you advised the Home Secretary). Are you just hoping the public will forget what a Conservative government is like, or do you genuinely not know what you did?

Three teenagers escaped prison after gang-raping two schoolgirls. The country is shocked and disgusted. But it is explicit government policy to send fewer criminals under eighteen to prison. I’ve written to David Lammy demanding he changes course.

@skicrampons Yeah, could still prejudice the trial. I wonder if the judge could summon him just for a bollocking, even if there's no sanction.

@skicrampons No because of parliamentary privilege. MPs can basically say anything in the chamber and not get into legal trouble.

So they watched 1500 hours of CCTV footage. That implies that they got footage for around 50 cameras and then watched the whole day's footage from each one. Wouldn't it have been better to watch one in full to confirm the time of the event, then just watch the others at something like double speed around the same time till the event in question is recorded. Then watch the same few minutes in more detail. Seems like the police don't know how to use a media player.

@sherlock_comms Sorry, I can't reply right now. Can you get back in touch after the Week of Action? And maybe after my promotion board? I'm sure whoever takes over this role will be interested in your feedback.

Important to remember that those in social housing in London also have more floorspace per occupant on average than those who privately rent.

@Darkelfcraftman Maybe. The old timey ones probably made more contact with people's chins than their thighs, which might also explain their differing efficacy.

@Seoirse_ You bolt awake in a cold sweat. You are Arthur Balfour and it is 1st November 1917. You tear up the letter you were about to send to Lord Rothschild. The future cannot come to pass.

In Sep 1984 a Royal Military Police close protection team was involved in a major terrorist attack in Lebanon, and demonstrated enormous courage to save the lives of the British and US Ambassadors. Short thread on an almost forgotten battle in Beirut.

@davidjmadden At least you've now progressed to accepting there shouldn't be unemployed people in zone 1 social housing. Baby steps.

Exactly wrong. It's the London of oligarchs and second homes that is a gigantic misallocation of resources. Social housing is a massive part of London's greatness as a city. And there is no "economic productivity" without working class labour.
Sam Bowman@s8mb

Exactly right, and if you allowed these people to sell the rights to these properties, most of them would. It’s a gigantic misallocation of resources, and fixing it is the fastest way to create a lot more housing in central London for economically productive people.

Cat question. Tough breed that's likely to see off all the multiple neighbouring cats shitting in our garden? Maine coon? Siamese? Bengal?
