The frontcourt lineup combination Finch’s rotations have been trying to stay away from since Kyle Anderson arrived is Gobert-Randle-Anderson, due to the lack of shooting/spacing. Because McDaniels, Edwards and Dosunmu are all out, I would assume that group gets some real minutes today — maybe even starts. If we assume Conley and DiVincenzo is the starting backcourt (as it was last game), the options to start functionally at the 3 are… - Anderson - Shannon - Hyland - Reid - Clark

I agree that there are times to not dive. When you are diving into a players legs that is completely reckless and will result in a foul and probably in injury. I’m not disputing that. I’m talking about 50/50 ~ 60/40 balls. The player diving for the ball is going to have a huge advantage over the guy trying to scoop. They will get to the ball faster and have the ability to twist and turn with the ball close to the ground effectively shielding the ball from the guy not on the floor. Obtaining possession is far more important than trying to scoop and score and losing out to the guy diving for the ball. That’s how you get benched. Side note- same thing goes in football for fumbles. Dive on the ball and secure possession.

Accelerating into a scoop. It's kinda like why baseball players don't slide into first base. Now, if a player dives and does get it, it's the worst position to be in: on the floor with the ball. Train them to rip the ball out of their hands. Worst case, a jump ball. Also train to get feet off floor if the diver is taking out their legs recklessly. There are times when diving is appropriate, typically going towards sideline. But if you scoop and get it, you have a chance to turn it into a layup. Diving? Zero chance. And never ever dive when the opponents' legs are in between you and the ball. Play Hard. Play Smart. 💥

As a reminder, this mode was originally designed and balanced to launch as a Quads experience. While we recognize the strong interest in a Solos option, please be aware that gameplay is not yet fully tuned for a single player experience.

The 1-2 week timeline is intentional. Edwards has been a fast healer, so they are leaving open the possibility he returns sooner than later. But they’re not going to rush him.

Good news: We’ve heard your feedback on adding more ways to play Black Ops Royale, and Solos is coming!
While this will require some backend work and a few changes that need to happen before it goes live, we're excited to get Solos into the game and we'll share more details on timing as we get closer to deploying. We plan to add Solos as a Private Match option next week to help gather early data on match pacing and overall balance.
