The 1970s formations of The Ramones in NYC and the Sex Pistols in London led to an explosion of the punk, goth, and emo countercultures which eventually spread into Mexico. By 2008, these decades of subcultural evolution hit a breaking point in Mexico City, sparking a massive street brawl between 'traditional' Punks and 'new' Emos over the soul of the aesthetic. In a finale as surreal as the conflict itself, the war was only stopped when a group of Hare Krishnas marched into the middle of the riot, subduing the angry teenagers with chants, drums, and flowers proving that the only thing more powerful than a subculture feud is a well-timed tambourine.

Google's CEO Sundar Pichai was asked if, in light of the SPLC's fraud, whether Google will continue to boost the SPLC's smears of conservatives and other Trump administration offices to the top search results. He said there would be no change in policy.

@ProudSocialist The irony here is that it is China that is in decline. Massive debt, a demographic time bomb, real estate in free fall and is no longer a cheaper producer/exporter than India, Vietnam, or Malaysia. Youth unemployment is 20%, and old people will soon make up the majority.

Xi Jinping is putting on a clinic: “The whole world is watching our meeting. The International situation is turbulent. The world is at a new crossroads: Can China and the US overcome the Thucydides Trap and create a new paradigm to meet global challenges together.” The Thucydides Trap is the structural tension that occurs when a rapidly rising power (China) threatens to displace an established ruling power that is in decline (US). By mentioning the Thucydides trap, Xi Jinping is signaling that China is the new leader of the free world and what’s remarkable is, unlike the U.S., China achieved this without dropping bombs, waging endless wars, or spending $1 trillion a year on its military. Instead China became the leader of the free world by investing in its people with housing, education, health care, and the best modern infrastructure in the world, and investing in its neighbor countries through its Belt and Road Initiative, which has funded ports, railways, and energy networks across the Global South. The US became a “superpower” through endless wars, corruption, and selling out its own people to the billionaire class while China became a superpower and surpassed the US by building trade and relations with the world and investing in its people instead of wars. Americans would be wise to take note and then change our corrupt government.

When MAGA talks about making America great again, they’re referring to the mid-20th century, when the working class flourished and families could afford a home on one income. Yet they’d lose their minds if we proposed the same things today that made that possible then.

@uncledoomer Failure to compete against foreign imports is because they refused to modernize and got crushed by legacy costs (They were paying 5 pensions for every 1 active worker.) They literally got milked to death by their retirees, and refused to modernize into electric arc furnaces.

"E15 is one of those rare issues where everyone wins." Corn and ethanol is the final boss of boomer delusions. The boomer clings to corn as the one irrefutable good thing their generation figured out. Sure the boomer was wrong on race. They destroyed our healthcare and education systems. They bankrupted the country, sold their descendants into debt slavery, then printed money to make the debt worthless. But at least they figured out the keystone of agriculture crops: corn. Corn yields per acre have increased 5.5 times since 1945. We are told by monocultists that this is great and has no downsides. They're wrong. Corn+E15 is as stupid and fake as everything else boomers love. Ethanol is utterly deranged. It's the worst possible use of the land. We burn it in our cars as a direct subsidy to agribusiness scammers. It makes farmland stupid expensive because corn is a taxpayer guaranteed market. That means farmers go bankrupt and leave for the suburbs. It means kids in the suburbs cant afford to go out and buy land to farm. Rural depopulation isn't an accident. Small towns did not die: they were murdered. What need is there for a community of people in an ocean of corn? None. All the monocultists need is their equipment and some Hispanic slaves. So the people packed up and left. Who wants to live around that? Ugly, inhuman, unnatural landscape compared to what it could be. Corn is such a depressing crop. It's as lifeless and sterile as lawn grass. Worse actually because it's drenched in poison that gives people cancer. We have a cost of living crisis. Tons of affordable housing in the country but no healthy culture to plug into. Jobs out there suck. Nobody wants to work at Dollar general and live in a town full of crackheads and alcoholics. If someone is gonna move out to the small town they are gonna want to farm or work in town processing farm goods. We could employ millions of young Americans farming if we got rid of E15. That would create a positive feedback loop where they would get paid to actually make real products, which would lower the cost of living for everyone else, which would incentivize the employment of more farmers, who create more goods. It's the only way we fix the Great Great Depression we are in.
Rep. Nikki Budzinski@RepNikkiB

We need permanent year-round E15. Now.

@MomKrill I knew a guy, a lawyer, who made $50 million from the fenfen case. He moved with his wife and five kids to a Tuscany estate and had 10 staffers. It was beautiful until he slept with the nanny and blew it all up. Still see his face on buses chasing ambos. lol.

Why is trad always homesteading and 1950s aesthetics... and never 19th century aristocratic landowner's wife? I just want an estate fully staffed with servants. Is that such an unreasonable trad life goal? 🥺

Season 1 of The Boys was surprisingly good. As soon as the producers realized right wingers were enjoying their show they went out of their way to destroy it. What are some other examples of film makers sabotaging their work to own the chuds?

I'm telling you guys.. Buy antiques.. Cultural revival on the horizon, sweeping nativism, end of clinical modern styling, abundance of new manufactured things - scarcity of authenticity. Your granny's plate collection will be like a box of NFTs. Victorian / Edwardian trinkets, furniture etc.. are basically free right now.. you can pick up things dripping in history and meaning for nothing.

@xwanyex @shagbark_hick The same thing happened to Koreans in Baltimore. They used to own all the short-order grill places where you could get a nice bacon, egg, and cheese on wheat for $2.99, or a cheesesteak for lunch. Sadly, most are closed, their kids went to Hopkins, and they live in the burbs.

What's funny is that the Bosnians did this in Utica NY to very good effect. They cleaned up areas of that city that had been considered irreparably dysfunctional. What do they possess in skill and spirit that the average American seems to lack? They have "that dawg" in them.
