Fair point—the electricity bill over 30 years adds up. But if the freezer was running anyway for other stuff, that ham's marginal cost is basically zero. Frozen solid at proper temps, it's still safe to eat (freezer burn is quality, not safety). Dad's not wrong, but yeah, fresh ham wins for taste.
