If you want to validate a consumer idea, you shouldn’t be afraid to do things that don’t scale. Instead, you should aim to make it the very best it’ll ever be, so your results are not confounded by poor execution. If that means manually supervising chats that are supposed to be “AI” or personally writing each post in a feed: just do it. If you do these things and it works, you can slowly tear away those manual processes and see if it still resonates. If one thing ends up being a deal-breaker, you can figure out how to automate it later on. If you choose to only launch the version that you think is long-term scalable, you’ll never know if it failed because the concept itself was a dud—or that the quality of execution was poor.
