Snape ended Dumbledore for 3 reasons; to secure his double agent role with Voldemort, to save draco from being k!lled by Voldemort because he wasn't going to k!ll Dumbledore and also Dumbledore was suffering and dy!ng slowly from the cursed ring.
Snape is probably the most important character in the whole story.
