Really hope this movie fixes Superman perception bc people genuinely think he should never smile or show any emotions.
Legit saw people having troubles with the idea of Superman saving a squirrel and caring about civilians so much, is not even funny.

He DID find a way, actually.
He inspired the other heroes to halt Boravia’s assault, instead of falling in line with their corporate and government mandates.
The point is Superman isn’t just important as a hero, but as a symbol of hope and inspiration to do the right thing.

"Hopecore" Superman, is an uninteresting Superman. He's not a character, he's a vibe. He's a version of the character not motivated by any sort of characterization or purpose, but to simply exist and make the audience feel good, about him and themselves.

definitely kicking the hornets' nest here, but now that we've got such a wonderful direct comparison, I'm absolutely gobsmacked that *this* was what Superman looked, sounded, and acted like onscreen as recently as 2016. truly miserable stuff!
