This response was directed to @FatherChrisVor1 - who is free to respond here. (see below). It was around 15 years ago that a group of Nigerians approached me, priests and ministers, to ask if I'd speak to Members of Congress about the mass killing of Catholic Nigerians, who were quite literally taken out of mass and burned alive, and filmed. That was when I was on the Hill all the time. They also asked if I'd reach out to the Archdiocese of Washington on their behalf because they couldn't get an audience - they were actually shut out. I approached my parish priest to open the discussion. The priest's panic of having to respond was obvious. He gave what was obviously a packaged response of non-involvement. Wouldn't even watch the video. So cringe, so unmanly. The thing is, a number of years later, Boko Haram launched another round of mass killings targeting Catholics. This time, a Nigerian Reformed Minister reached out to see if I'd try again, as the murders, almost all of them Catholic, were particularly savage. I asked why the priest didn't approach as well. He told me he wasn't allowed to make an appeal to the Washington Archdiocese. (Nobody disbelieved this; nobody was surprised.) The thing is, I did approach the parish priest, a new priest, and he gave verbatim the exact same prepared response. The counter-terror world knows the American Catholic leadership is aligned with the Muslim Brotherhood, which means they've sided against Catholics and other Christians. Ideological subversion only explains so much. It was around that time that the already disgraced Cardinal McCarrick testified before a Senate Committee, chaired by Illinois Senator Durbin, on behalf of the USCCB. He gave a ringing "shoulder to shoulder" endorsement of the Muslim Brotherhood. Being allies with the Islamic Movement in America (the Muslim Brotherhood) means the USCCB is an ally of Boko Haram there, and ISIS in Syria. I noted your disrespect and condescension toward other responders on your post, some of whom are also Catholic and have extensive in-theater experiences. There are more than a few Catholics with deep counter-terror experience who are ready for the beat-down. How about a little humility? As a personal note, I think the USCCB's position on Islam is indefensible and approaches blasphemy. That Prevost took his Chicago/Obama agenda to Rome (well, you finish it). People know what they see. If they're Catholic, they also know that 'nobody comes to Father except through the Son.' unconstrainedanalytics.org/interfaith-out…
