I'm realizing a lot of red button pushers don't know what low vs high trust is. A lot of them seem to believe: "High trust = trusting everyone to lock their doors at night and have a personal security detail."
Bad Egg@BadEggGames

@Daniel86Cycles @Vexarian my personal risk is. and that's the rule for most scenes my guy. You don't make more victims. risk a lot to save a lot, only works if the collective action isn't making a TON of risk. and blue is absolutely risking up to half the population out of low trust.

"if everyone pressed the red button nobody would die" what if everyone pressed blue then. By that logic.

@PANationalMoose @clockworksDream @Coach_left4dead No, I’m hoping that enough people pick Blue so that we don’t have a world where billions die. You’re hoping for the same thing too, you just want others to put their lives on the line instead of you

For anyone still confused; If everyone pushes the red button, everyone survives. Done. If anyone pushes the blue button, they're committing suicide unless they can convince at least half of everyone else to also risk suicide in order for none of them to have to actually do it, but they want to, and now get to, brag they were willing to kill themselves & convince a multitude of others to as well, even though there was a perfectly logical, non-suicidal option the entire time that wouldn't have risked any of the population.
󠁧󠁢BeuwenDragon@BeuwenDragon

Blue button pushers are easily manipulated by deceptive wording, selfishly resorting to emotional coercion to manipulate other people into gambling their lives to save them from the consequences of their own choice, all while gaslighting everyone to thinking they are altruistic.

@_Texas_Chris_ @jimiuorio No I’m not, but if I were, I would say that red in that scenario corresponds to what some Communist revolutionaries advocate

I’m floored at how fascinating and telling the red button blue button debate is. There are many people who make the reasonable (but totally wrong imv) case for choosing blue..I feel it’s entirely irresponsible to put your own life in jeopardy to save people who could very very easily save themselves…the blue pill pushers seem to want to view themselves as part of the collective that will save the species..it’s the hero/delusions of grandeur psychological condition that will lead to awful outcomes..

@ChitlinPapppi @StandardHb @xspotsdamark I'd say written sources are more useful for archaeological research, but oral tradition is still a valid form of passing down knowledge which I believe was the most common way of preserving info across Africa and the Americas

-British guy goes to Africa: “What’s this animal called” -African tribesman: “We call it Okapi” - Western scholars: “The Okapi was discovered 150 years ago by that British guy”

@clair_janitor @clockworksDream @Coach_left4dead Neither do I, the difference between is that I’m not willing to tell people that they should risk death for my benefit. I’m arguing that you should choose red for your own sake, not mine.

@Kareshy_Oruta @clockworksDream @PANationalMoose @Coach_left4dead The same phenomenon is why some people believe, without evidence, that Fred Rogers was a phoney compensating for some dark secret. If they accept the possibility that one can just choose simple goodness, they have no excuse for not doing the same. They just don't want to.

When "red button pressers" argue that "third worlders" would vote red, they do not understand that those people they meet locally are opportunists. You can't know, how a person that did not take the chance to leave their "shit hole" for "better life", a person who has a strong bond with their community, will vote.

@clockworksDream @Coach_left4dead But you don’t live for those other people either. You’re just lying to yourself to feel superior. If it was an actual scenario and not just some stupid twitter poll you’d hit the red button every time.

The blue button is not a suicide button; it’s a genetic memory of a strategy that let humanity survive through millions of years. And here the right comes and calls it a suicide button. Ridiculous.

Predators cannot attack the entire herd. They will have to wait until the herd begins to run away, and then attack the stragglers. That's all you need to know about the team red. Those who press the red button cause panic and deaths.

@PANationalMoose @Aella_Girl Do you not see this entire website currently arguing about this? All the rewordings like the blender one have votes far more skewed towards red than blue due to how the threat of what pressing blue does is actually tangible instead of just pushing a button, it is tricking people.

im confused by people saying the right answer is pressing red. the good outcomes are 51% of ppl press blue OR 100% of people press red. the second is obvs way less likely
