@GingerBriq But why am I suspicious of this? Like I feel like this is deliberate misdirection like we normally get from her…

I kind of figured you did, but I thought it was worth mentioning anyway because I hope you know that I care very much. Also, I'm sure it is terrifying to go to bed not what's happening, and to be frank, most people don't really know where go for accurate, up-to-date information. Hopefully the state emergency management agency is getting real-time, up-to-date information from whatever wildland firefighting assets are on the scene, because usually news channels are hours behind the curve, and as you already said, an hour or even 15 minutes can make a huge difference. That said, here are the 2 most real-time, up-to-date wildland firefighting information sotes, the National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) @ nifc.gov, and the best real-time information (plus a nationwide map) of all current wildland firefighting ops and deployed assets is InciWeb @ inciweb.wildfire.gov. Also, since all wildland firefighting at the federal level (on all federal lands, and upon requests by state gov'ts) are coordinated under the National Wildfire Coordination Group (NWCG), typically the fed gov't has the most up-to-date information. Anyway, TBH, I'm surprised aerial firefighting ops aren't ongoing, from what I've seen on InciWeb (it's the main fed gov website for wildland firefighting info), there doesn't appear to be weather-related issues preventing it. Not that this changes anything, but one of the things I hounded the "head honchos" about was not nationally utilizing over 600 US Army CH-47F Chinook helicopters scattered across the US, each one capable of carrying 4000 gallons (two, 2000 gallons) "water buckets" with faster speeds and turnaround times that just about anything doing aerial firefighting, all because nobody wants to pay the bill at the end. The really disgusting part for me was, as a former CH-47 and MH-47 Chinook pilot, someone who flew quite a few aerial firefighting ops while on active duty, what kind of a "price" do you put on people's lives, their businesses, and their homes? Which is cheaper, spend the money to contain wildfires as quickly as possible, or the spend hundreds of millions, if not billions of dollars in rebuilding after wildfires done immense damage, whether lives are lost or not? I know the answers, unfortunately, political decisions are almost always after-the-fact, seldom proactive, and my "bitching" fell on "fiscally" deaf ears, which is why I stopped flying. I flew over 100hrs during the Camp Fire wildfire in California back in 2018, it was my last wildfire, I'd had enough of the BS! BTW, I just tried to check InciWeb to see what the current status is, unfortunately, either the site is down (it happens, just not a lot) or it's under some kind of system maintenance. Anyhow, I hope this information helps to keep you, your girls, and your puppies safe, and perhaps be able to stay a little better informed as to what's going on. Again, please be safe, know that I'm praying for you all, and please let everyone know that you're safe whenever you can.🙏

@DAWGSrELITE @TheSEFilesPod @4pm I’m keenly aware. Unfortunately, they’re not sending aerial support measures that I’m aware of. They’re just plowing fire breaks and evacuating as needed. It’s terrifying to go to bed at night tbh. They’ve shut down 82 to Waycross. We’re just praying for rain.

Be careful Heather, wildfires can cover 10 miles a lot faster than most people think. Not to scare you, but depending on the winds, wildfires can easily travel 10 miles in less than an hour. I spent several years flying aerial firefighting missions as a contract helicopter pilot for several federal agencies after retiring from the Army, and several more yesrs as a "ground-pounder," they can be frighteningly fast, especially in drought conditions. Anyway, I'll say a prayer for you, your girls, and your poochies, as well as for the rest of the people in harm's way. Stay safe, and please keep us informed whenever you can.🙏

Piggy No 4 went wee wee wee all the way home

Banks County Woman Arrested After Turning Numbered Pigs Loose in Walmart COMMERCE, GA — Shoppers at the Commerce Walmart were thrown into confusion Saturday afternoon after a local woman allegedly released four pigs—each spray-painted with the numbers 1, 2, 3, and 5—into the store, triggering what authorities later described as “a logistical nightmare disguised as a math problem.” The Incident According to witnesses, 47-year-old Charlene Mixon entered the store pushing a buggy that appeared to be shaking and occasionally grunting. Employees assumed it was either a wobbly wheel or a normal Saturday. Moments later, Mixon allegedly opened the buggy, shouted “Run free!”, and four pigs scattered across the store—one toward Housewares, one toward Grocery, one toward Electronics, and one directly into the Vision Center. The Numbering Scheme The pigs were labeled 1, 2, 3, and 5, which immediately caused confusion among staff. “We spent an hour looking for pig number 4,” said assistant manager Trevor Haskins. “Then we realized there wasn’t one. I’m still mad about it.” Several customers joined the search, believing it was some kind of promotional event. Police Response Banks County Sheriff deputies arrived quickly, though officers admitted they were “not trained for livestock deployed with psychological warfare.” One officer slipped near the bacon section, which he later described as “deeply ironic.” All four pigs were eventually captured using two laundry baskets, a pallet of marshmallows, and one determined elderly greeter who said she had “handled worse at the Piggly Wiggly years ago.” Mixon was arrested without incident, though she did request that officers “let the pigs finish what they started.” Charges Authorities say she faces disorderly conduct, livestock at large, interference with commerce, and “creating unnecessary suspense via missing number 4.” The pigs were unharmed and transported to a local county animal control facility, where staff described them as “friendly and surprisingly fast.” Community Reaction Locals have already dubbed the event “The Great Walmart Pig Caper.” A Facebook group titled “Where Is Pig #4?” has gained hundreds of members.
