To me the idea of the US invading Kharg Island is a headfake. US military planners will want to repeat that greatest of all US amphibious landings: Inchon. So I could at the limit see them try to take Chabahar Port on the Gulf of Oman, not far from the Pakistani border. The idea would be a bit like Ukraine’s Kursk incursion, grab something valuable in the hopes of trading it for something even more valuable. In this case they would take Chabahar Port and insist on the opening of the Strait of Hormuz to get it back.
Chabahar Port was developed by India to bypass Pakistan and give them access to Central Asia. Pakistan’s nearby Gwadar Port was developed by China. So there is already some interesting proxy competition built into this maritime geography.
Given its direct access from the Arabian Sea, Chabahar does seem the most likely invasion point if the US wants to grab a bridgehead in Iran. It will depend on the exact invasion point whether the port gets destroyed in the fighting. It will be tempting for Iran to let the US land and occupy some territory. That increases sunk cost for the US, making any end to the war even more illusive. Plus US troops will be vulnerable to artillery and rocket fire from Iranian infantry who know the ground.
Far from being a genius Inchon move, such an incursion has Kursk written all over it.

Israel’s Ministry of Hasbara has apologised for disastrous “proof of life” videos featuring Israel’s late prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu. A spokesperson blamed the “pressures of war” for the failure to spot the errors in its recent slopaganda.

🇯🇵 Takaichi flew 6,000 miles to be humiliated. Pearl Harbor brought up. Lunch canceled. No joint statement.
She went to Washington to explain Japan's limits. Trump spent the meeting mocking them.
82% of Japanese oppose this war. She ignored them.
11,000 protested in Tokyo. She flew anyway.
Now she's signing $40 billion nuclear deals. Tying Japan closer to an empire that just insulted its history.
Takaichi bowed. Trump laughed. Japan paid.
Call it diplomacy. The rest of us call it submission.

You killed the moderate (Kantian Philosopher) now you get the radical (PhD in Supply Chain Logistics)

Ali Larijani’s successor, Hossein Dehghan, holds a PhD in Management. He was one of the students who occupied the US embassy in Tehran. He also commanded the IRGC forces in Lebanon and was among the orchestrators of the 1983 bombing of the US Marine barracks in Beirut. The look on his face says it all.

Israel has reached the top of it's escalation ladder today by announcing its new tactic of killing any and all Iranian officials. But do you know why they're actually doing this? And why they decided to kill Iran's uber-spox Ali Larijani? The Israelis know @realDonaldTrump wants an off-ramp, and so are trying to kill everyone (and create rage inside Iran) who could possibly negotiate a US exit from this war. If there's noone to talk to, how will Trump stop the war? Desperate measures by the genocidal Israelis who need Americans to die in endless wars in order to feel "safe."

Things are just unbelievably surreal right now. Israel attacks an Iranian gas platform saying they have US permission. Trump freaks out saying that there will be no more such attacks by Israel. While simultaneously Reuters reports that Trump is considering sending (more) good old American boys to seize Kharg island and the Iranian coastline along the Strait of Hormuz - something that may cost many American lives. Arab and British participants in the negotiations with Iran think Iran was ready to hand over its nuclear fuel and consider that Witkoff and Kushner were serving Israeli interests rather more than US interests. Trump starts a war with Iran under influence from Netanyahu. It becomes plainer by the moment that Israel is trying to lock Trump and the US into a total all-out war against Iran. All while it also becomes clearer that Trump was far more involved with Epstein and his 'fascination with young ladies' than most of us ever knew and was quite possibly a participant in the 'parlour games' (see video) of a suspected Mossad asset who allegedly habitually secretly filmed the 'parlour games' in question. In the meantime the rest of the world and billions of ordinary lives go to hell in a hand basket.
It reads like a very entertaining - or disturbing - holiday novel.

The entertainment keeps getting better. The US is now going to unsanction floating Iranian oil to create additional supply and "use it against Iran".
