Spicy take… at some point in the next few years there will be the idea that an existing mortgage can be moved to a new underlying property because mobility will be so bad (i.e. nobody with a 2.5%-3% mortgage is moving otherwise unless forced to).

Data seems to support this view... housing stock growth has largely kept up with population growth. Just not in certain areas where people want to live and where there isn't much room (or willingness) for housing stock growth. We need more (new) cities.

This view of immigration sees wealth as a fixed pie and immigrants as stealing slices! It is nonsense. Capitalism teaches that the pie is not fixed. More people can make more slices! Immigrants ADD to our collective wealth. They are new workers for expanding businesses; entrepreneurs building new ones; and consumers spending their paychecks! Every day, I see my immigrant bodega guys hustling to make a local business work. Immigrant delivery dudes are racing to bring food and groceries to other New Yorkers. A few months ago a Chinese lady stopped to ask me about business in the area. She was thinking of buying and renovating local buildings. All these people are CREATING more wealth. And, of course, spending money and paying taxes! Immigration in America is easily an economic net positive.

Several ways forward here given the choice of Roberts/Barrett to nullify the 14th Amendment and extra-constitutionally replace it with their own language: 1) Nullification. States issue birth certificates, and they can just stop issuing them to non-citizens. Roberts/Barrett can deal with the fallout and litigate each birth individually. 2) Pack the court. If Robert wants to be a politician who writes laws instead of a judge, then he can fight with 10 more unelected legislators in robes. 3) Deny entry to all pregnant foreigners. 4) Deny entry to all female foreigners. 5) Require sterilization of all foreign visitors prior to entry. 6) Dissolution of the Union. A nation which can’t even restrict who gets to be a citizen isn’t a nation. 7) Amend the Constitution. This is pointless, because once a judge decides he can rewrite the Constitution at will (as Roberts and Barrett did today), the actual text is meaningless. But this is what most GOP politicians gravitate towards because they are useless. If you think all these options are not great, understand that that is what happens when unelected judges decide that they are in charge of the country and get to write its laws.

@PCAminimums @rSanti97 @politicalmath Do you lack reading comprehension skills? What part of my post said any of that? And I want taxes cut for EVERYONE. What exactly does the govt do so well with the money they steal now? Christ calls US to help. Not to give it to Rome first.
