England are two wins away from being crowned football World Champions in America, just days after the U.S. celebrated 250 years of kicking us out. If that doesn’t inspire @HKane and his team to glory, nothing will. Come on lads, do it for King George III.

@RepScottPeters Democrats designed the credits to retire so they could justify having “Affordable” in the name of the ACA. Continuing the credits means the Act is no longer “Affordable”.

Since Republicans let ACA tax credits expire in January, over 100,000 Californians have dropped their Affordable Care Act coverage. In some states, more than 20% of ACA enrollees have dropped. That risks public health and drives up costs for everyone when folks inevitably seek care in emergency rooms. interactives.ap.org/embeds/CLzNH/3…

@TheChiefNerd NYT has it all wrong. When has Bruce engaged in meaningful back and forth over a dissenting opinion? Lecturing invokes no “back and forth”.

Lorenzo Salgado Araujo lived in the United States for 35 years, built a small business, and achieved his dream of building a home for his family. Yesterday, on his way to work, ICE shot and killed him. @Carrasquillo talked to his sons about who their father was.

@BillKristol But it wasn’t “long-standing status quo” from an impact perspective because Biden let 10-15M enter illegally. While I understand that doesn’t change the law, it certainly changes the reaction.

Tom and I discuss the Court on birthright citizenship. What does it say that a decision upholding a long-standing status quo sparked a nativist meltdown? That today's nativists are extremists. But also that they are determined to move the Overton window. open.substack.com/pub/ofthebrave…

@DavidAFrench 1/2 5 and 6 in your Tweet are indeed bizarre. You know what else is bizarre? That you wouldn't find it bizarre that folks would look to extreme solutions after one party did nothing to prevent (and, in some cases, encouraged) the illegal entry of 10-15M into the US.

This whole list is absolute BONKERS. But these segments in particular are just next level: "5) Require sterilization of all foreign visitors prior to entry. 6) Dissolution of the Union. A nation which can’t even restrict who gets to be a citizen isn’t a nation." It is absolutely bizarre that these people believe that the continued application of a rule that has existed for generation after generation -- as we've grown to the most powerful and prosperous free nation in world history -- is somehow the root of our national demise and so clearly wrong that we need to end the union. Just wild.
Sean Davis@seanmdav

Several ways forward here given the choice of Roberts/Barrett to nullify the 14th Amendment and extra-constitutionally replace it with their own language: 1) Nullification. States issue birth certificates, and they can just stop issuing them to non-citizens. Roberts/Barrett can deal with the fallout and litigate each birth individually. 2) Pack the court. If Robert wants to be a politician who writes laws instead of a judge, then he can fight with 10 more unelected legislators in robes. 3) Deny entry to all pregnant foreigners. 4) Deny entry to all female foreigners. 5) Require sterilization of all foreign visitors prior to entry. 6) Dissolution of the Union. A nation which can’t even restrict who gets to be a citizen isn’t a nation. 7) Amend the Constitution. This is pointless, because once a judge decides he can rewrite the Constitution at will (as Roberts and Barrett did today), the actual text is meaningless. But this is what most GOP politicians gravitate towards because they are useless. If you think all these options are not great, understand that that is what happens when unelected judges decide that they are in charge of the country and get to write its laws.

How do we fix Social Security? If we lifted the payroll tax cap to ensure everyone pays their fair share, Social Security would be solvent for decades. Elon Musk just became the world’s first trillionaire, but he pays the same into social security that a teacher does. Pay your fair share.

Student loan debt is not a partisan issue it’s an American issue. My discharge petition will bring H.R. 2003 Affordable Loans for Students Act straight to the floor and cap federal student loan interest rates at 2% To be clear: this is not a bailout, this is about making sure Americans who are trying to build a better future don’t have to spend their whole lives trying to pay off their debts. @RepMoskowitz

@robertomalates2 @thecyrusjanssen Italy faces significant waiting times for public healthcare . Specialist consultations can take from 120->300 days, elective surgery can take 10-15 months,... You have universal coverage, but you do not have universal care, which would be what you need when you need it.
