Very sad to hear that UMass is rescinding all PhD admissions for Fall 2025. This means there will be no new PhD cohort, and UMass will not have a graduating class that year. This is just unprecedented and I am so very sorry for all the affected students.

We found that lower novelty-related LC activity was related to greater tau deposition in the bilateral entorhinal, fusiform, and inferior temporal cortices and a steeper memory decline.

We also found that the association between LC function and cognition was partially mediated by entorhinal tau, particularly in individuals with elevated beta-amyloid levels.

We investigated whether novelty-related LC activity observed in humans during a face-name association task is associated with the accumulation of cortical tau and its downstream effects on cognition.
