@DrJaninaRamirez It us almost a shock to deal pleasantly with real people after becoming used to the hatred in social media.

This might not be the right platform/time for this post, but I want to share some light. After a year travelling the world, followed by 5 months going around the UK I am filled with love & respect for most people. A kind exchange in a supermarket turns into a friendship…

In the dramatic circumstances of war, information must guard against the risk of turning into propaganda. It is every journalist's duty to verify the news, so as not to become a megaphone for power. They must show the suffering that war always brings to populations, which entails showing the face of war and recounting it through the eyes of victims.

Pure ignorance: no serious Israeli historian or archaeologist believes this & DNA studies completely disprove it. Read the work for eg of Gideon Avni or Yossi Rappoport: languages & religions changed, people remained Recovering the lost history of Gaza share.google/5LwquF4LW6j0Tb…

The Jews are the only extant indigenous people of the land of Israel. The people who colonised it were Romans, Christians, Arabs and Muslims. Zionism is the ultimate decolonisation movement. The genocidal child-murderers are Hamas-led Palestinian Arabs and the Iranian regime. Get something above your own neck other than ignorance and knuckle-dragging bigotry.

I agree and urge everyone to read the full translation . It’s why the UKs defensive position is the right one and we must not like the US get dragged into Israels war. Below is the sentiment I am hearing across the region over and over again. “In this scenario, Iran, Israel, and the United States are all acting in their own self-interest, not in the interest of the people of the Arab states of the Middle East. Therefore, we say it clearly: we will not enter this war to serve the interests of others, and we will not sacrifice our sons in a conflict that could have been avoided through diplomacy and political solutions. We value the lives of our sons, and we do not treat their lives as "collateral damage," as some do. Nothing in this world is more precious than the lives of our sons, and no alliance with any country in the world is worth risking those lives. If President Donald Trump and Senator Graham are willing to risk their country and the lives of Americans for the sake of Israel's interests, that is their choice. We will not do the same. Senator Graham says they are "Arab allies" and that we need and benefit from US protection. I say to him: We don't need your protection. All we want from you is to keep your harm away from us”
Faisal Islam@faisalislam

This is extremely interesting and worth hitting the translate button for: the context is that this leading Emirati business figure, Khalaf Al Habtoor whose company built the iconic Burj Al Arab tower in Dubai, at the forefront of UAE commercial normalisation with Israel, no fan of the Iranians, totally rejects the idea of entering the war on US/ Israel side as urged by Senator Graham. Difficult to imagine as serious a player as this departing from the private concerns of leadership….

I popped into our new SHARE centre for people who are homeless in Chester this morning. As I sat chatting with some of the lads and lasses over breakfast, they talked about where they had slept the night before. Before long, the conversation turned to something else entirely, how they wanted to give back to Chester. Within minutes, five or six of them were discussing plans to clear and tidy an overgrown area in the middle of the car park. Weed control, decorative bark and gravel, making it a nicer space for people visiting the doctors next door. That led on to repairing fences, clearing litter and helping to make the whole area more welcoming for local residents. I sat there listening as it dawned on me. These were people who had slept rough on our city streets, on the Rows, in nearby woodland, on friends’ sofas and yet here they were, talking about coming together as a force for good and improving the city they call home. Watch this space. Shareaid.co.uk #Force4GoodChester #Homelessness #Community @ShitChester @chestertweetsuk @Shelter @shareshopsuk
