The @PEBS_Hospital Marathon Team, called on US Consul General #Karachi, Mr Conrad Tribble, at the @usconsulatekhi, prior to their departure soon, for upcoming (42.2km) Chicago Marathon @ChiMarathon 2023 & also enjoyed an afternoon of race activities. #PEBSMarathonTeam consists of 7 runners & is the largest group travelling to #USA 🇺🇸 from #Pakistan 🇵🇰 This is the first time any charity health facility in Pakistan, has marathon runners, all busy professionals from diverse occupations, running together, to raise awareness and funds, which specifically in this case is for the #Free_Surgery of #OralCancer. I am proud to be running the @ChiMarathon, 8 October 2023, sponsored by @LifebuoyPk, to help support treatment of #OralCancer at @PEBS_Hospital The Oral Cancer Surgery Unit is entirely #FREE, albeit primary surgery, recurrence surgery or surgery due to complications. The usual hospital charges in 🇵🇰 with the proper facilities for comprehensive surgery plus reconstruction & ICU, is in the $2000 - $4000 range. Oral Cancer is the No. 1 Cancer causing death among men in Pakistan & No. 2 in women. Surgeries commenced at PEBS Hospital, 20 March 2023 & we are at full capacity, performing 12-15 Free, Oral Cancer Surgeries per month. Doctors are FCPS qualified, Nurses registered with the Nursing Council & OT / Anaesthesia technicians properly certified. The quality & standards are comparable to the private sector charging huge amounts. Have been requesting (pleading) since many years for just 1 road at Nagan Chowrangi, North Karachi, Shadman Town, opposite @PEBS_Hospital, to have sewerage line issue resolved & recarpeting, but no one does anything Mayor Wasim Akhtar & Chairman DMC Central Rehan Hashmi; did nothing!
