Istanbul Marathon 2025 | My First Full Marathon (42.195 km | 5:13) I'm a marathon finisher, finally. Allhamdolillah. I'm proud of myself. But when I started running in October last year, I wasn’t even sure if I could ever complete a half marathon. In fact, I couldn’t even run for 40 seconds without stopping. But today, a year later, I crossed the finish line of the Istanbul Marathon completing 42.195 km in 5 hours and 13 minutes. A distance I once thought was impossible. This journey has been so much more than just running. It’s been about patience, discipline, self-belief, and learning to embrace the struggle. The early morning alarms, the long runs in the heat, the sore legs, and the moments of doubt, they’ve all led to this one moment. The feeling of crossing that finish line… it’s something I’ll never forget. I couldn’t have done this alone. I owe this achievement to so many people who stood by me throughout this journey. Thank you @shoaibnz for encouraging me to start running in the first place and giving me the confidence that I could do it. Thank you to my coach Faisal Shafi for being the guiding force behind every step I took. His training, support, and belief made me capable of running 42 km. Without his coaching, this wouldn’t have been possible. Also, thanks to my colleague and senior runner, @junaidmuhammadd whose dedication and consistency have always inspired me and my friend @madeehasyed for not letting me give up when running even a kilometer felt impossible. Thank you @kaukabsarwarr for being my mentor and constant support, and for that one unforgettable moment when you said, “rukne ka nahee, chalte rehne ka hai,” just when I was about to give up. And to Karachi's running community, specially my club SVRC, for all the early morning runs, encouragement, and laughter that made training so much more fun. Special thanks to Mehwish, Hina, Sadaf, and specially Dania for sharing her experiences and guiding us through our long runs. A huge thank you to my sponsors Inverex and Interloop for their incredible support throughout this journey, and to Interior Minister @MohsinnaqviC42 for making my travel and participation in the marathon completely smooth. From someone who couldn’t run for 40 seconds to someone who ran 42 kilometers, this journey has changed me. It has taught me that with the right people around you, the right guidance, and a heart that refuses to give up, nothing is impossible. Today, I didn’t just complete a marathon. I completed a dream and I'm proud of myself.

Pakistanis gearing up for @sydmarathon taking place on 31st August 2025 first time as a World Major race @WMMajors and facing issues in getting Australian VISA despite having strong ties to Pakistan & extensive travel history. Your attention needed @AusHCPak 🇵🇰 🇦🇺

KMC is happy to be part of the Karachi Marathon initiative scheduled to take place on 5th January 2025. This is Pakistan’s 1st AIMS certified marathon which will enable our runners to easily participate at international events.

It is indeed an honour & privelage to be on the Organising Committee, as Director Security & Medical, for the upcoming monumental 1st #KarachiMarathon, Sunday 28 January 2024 This is the 1st full-distance Marathon (42.2km), measured, recognised & certified by World Athletics, in #Pakistan, which is being held at #SeaView #Karachi It would not have been possible without the vision of @shoaibnz whose efforts, starting with @sportsNpakistan began to revolutionise & evolve running & cycling across Pakistan, where it is not commonly known what exactly is a Marathon The Caretaker Minister Sports Sindh, Dr Junaid Ali Shah, has been a strong supporter, without whose collaboration, the 1st Karachi Marathon, would not have been possible! Ms Samia Mufti, is engaged as Director PR & Social Meda, putting together all the different layers of press, digital media, social media & awareness for the event. The best part is that while the Marathon has the 42.2km & 21.1km for those participating as “marathoners” in this historic event, it also has a 5km for families & children, to get the same medal & feel the same energy!
