How hard is this fertilizer thing on farmers? In December, it took 75 bushels of corn (Chicago price) to pay for 1-ton of NOLA urea. Today, it is taking 126 bushels of corn to pay for the same ton of NOLA urea. NOLA urea - up 77% or $270 Dec '26 corn - up 5% or 25-cents

Yesterday gave global urea markets hope that the Strait would reopen to vessel traffic and supply impacts would be limited. That is now gone. Vessels refuse to sail. Production starting to slow. Urea prices are up once again with mid-$600 the new benchmark...for now.

Today, China announced it will be suspending 100 per cent tariffs on Canadian canola meal and peas, and 25 per cent tariffs on lobster and crab imports, effective March 1. Fantastic news for Canada's agriculture and seafood sectors. cbc.ca/news/politics/…
