Here's the live demo of the prototype I put together for the PR: gkjohnson.github.io/batched-instan… Previously all drawn geometries had to be redundantly stored in the BatchedMesh geometry. This new change improves geometry memory usage from over 190MB to around 2KB! 2/3

It doesn't look like much here but Ive updated #threejs' BatchedMesh to support instancing in addition to batching including sorting and frustum culling! Here 20,000 items are drawn in a single draw call using only 3 unique geometries- a significant memory savings! 1/3 #webgl

@jmrivera02 I get that classifying games into broad genres can be reductive, but for me using more specific qualifiers (like Metroidbrainia in the case of Animal Well) is useful shorthand to draw my attention to harder-to-find experiences in games.

How it started vs how it's going, cherry coffee table edition. This is definitely the most complex build I've done so far 🫠 Designs, tons of milling, 4 panel glue ups, wide inset drawer, sanding galore. A healthy serving of mistakes that I hopefully learned from.
