@DevonWildlife @DBRCnews @Devon_LNP We find so many pink sea fans drowning in debris...fish net tights, fishing line, gill net, clothing, trawl net, necklaces, headphones, trainers, pants, pens, hoodies, socks, bikinis....

#DYK the threatened pink sea fan is a #DevonSpecialSpecies? It's mostly found at 15m or deeper on large boulders & bedrock and supports a number of other species. It's threatened by physical disturbance & occasional disease outbreaks @DBRCnews @Devon_LNP 📸Paul Naylor

Almost every day we find these pink sea fans (a species of soft coral) washed up, draped in debris. The 1st here - a magnificent specimen probably 40 years old - has black fish net tights attached. Others have beads, line & twine & bits of bags #EunicellaVerrucosa #seafangle
