Azamgarh: A Muslim man Mahfuz does occult rituals & faith healing. For about four to five years, he exploited the Hindu family's trust to sexually abuse the women, threatening to kill them using occult powers if they disclosed the matter to anyone. According to the police, a case was registered on July 22 based on a complaint filed by the victim against Mahfuz, son of Abubakar, a resident of Gahni Khurd in the Phulpur police station area. It is alleged that on the day of the incident, he made the victim's parents sit outside the house under the pretext of performing a ritual and attempted to rape the victim inside. The matter came to light when the young woman raised an alarm and family members rushed to the scene. Subsequently, the victim's two sisters also alleged that Mahfuz had raped them over several years by instilling fear through occult rituals and faith healing, threatening to kill them if they resisted or spoke to anyone.
