1. Similarities between destruction of churches in #Nigeria and Pakistan and destruction of Hindu temples in India in medieval period. A thread Since July 2009 to September 2025, 19,100 Christian churches in Nigeria have been destroyed, looted, or violently closed,(catholicworldreport.com) Nigeria-Islamic Terror group Boko Haram launched a deadly night assault on Sept. 23 on the Christian community of Wagga Mongoro in Madagali County, Adamawa state. The insurgents stormed the village around 11:40 p.m., killing four Christians, injuring many others, and destroying homes, shops, and a local church building.(persecution.org ) Fulani herdsmen began the new year by attacking a predominantly Christian community at dawn on Wednesday (01Jan 2025) in Kaduna state, Nigeria, burning down a church building and six houses(morningstarnews.org ). Armed Fulani herdsmen have launched a brutal attack on St. Paul’s Parish in Aye-Twar (Agu Centre) in Benue State, completely destroying the church and forcing an entire community to flee for their lives(cruxnow.com) According to the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), at least 145 priests have been kidnapped, 11 have been murdered, and four remain missing since 2015. However, Intersociety claims the reality is much worse. According to its counts, at least 250 Catholic clergy have been attacked in addition to another 350 clergy from other denominations. In November 2022, the United States returned nearly 200 looted ancient artifacts, valued at over $3.4 million, to Pakistan. Those who break idols got custody of priceless idols. Incidentally, they were stolen by art thief Subhash Kapoor and Pakistan didn't ask for their return.
