My Chief of Staff, Phyllis Inserillo, met with @NYC_DOT Queens Borough Commissioner Nicole Garcia and @NYCWater Director of Field Operations Jerry Fragias in Rockaway to show them the abhorrent conditions on Rockaway Beach Boulevard. According to DEP, there is no undermining of the roadway. This is entirely on the DOT now to repair the potholes and get a full, proper repaving done. As my Chief of Staff made clear to the officials during today’s meeting, the current conditions are absolutely unacceptable and my constituents deserve better. I look forward to DOT commissioner Flynn coming down in the coming weeks to further discuss the matter.

I heard some good news today. It looks like the @NYCSanitation Commissioner is doing the right thing and delaying fines for residents not having the official NYC trash bin for the next three months, rather than the original June deadline (hearing the new deadline will be after Labor Day.) This will give New Yorkers the whole summer to be able to obtain the often-unavailable bins. Hopefully, they figure things out by then. @nypost @createcraig @NYDailyNews @THECITYNY @CityAndStateNY @ABC7NY @PIX11News @NBCNewYork @fox5ny @amNewYork

The RCA Building aka "30 Rock"was built in large part by Italian immigrants. Taken on Sept 20, 1932, shows ironworkers 850 feet off the ground in Manhattan. Months prior, Italians set up the first Rockefeller Christmas tree to show their appreciation for the Depression-era work

A judge ruled against this proposal just last year, because the DOT failed to adhere to Local Law 6, and the local firehouses were adamant that this redesign would negatively impact public safety. I am very curious to know if the firehouses concerns were actually taken into account this time around, or if the administration is putting their thumb on the scales and forcing through an unsafe project.

Limitting press coverage at this event is right out of the communist dictator playbook. A mayor should be welcoming coverage by the free press when doing something as big as meeting with a former President. Instead we're seeing access restricted so that the party's message is amplified and opposing voices are removed from the conversation. This is a slap in the face to journalists everywhere and sends a clear message: spread Dear Leader's propaganda, or you dont get a seat at Mamdani's table.

Earlier this evening I joined @LidiaNews and @CMFrankMorano on @NEWSMAX's The Count to discuss an array of issues, from the mayor's failed promises to former Mayor Eric Adams' new Albanian citizenship and more. Thanks for having me on, Lidia Curanaj and Newsmax! And great to be on with my friend and council colleague Frank Morano!

Michelangelo’s Pietà, located in St. Peter’s Basilica, captures the moment when Jesus, taken down from the cross, is given to his mother Mary For God so loved the world that he gave his one & only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life John 3:16

Today, on Good Friday, we mark a day of sacrifice. Some New Yorkers will abstain from eating; others will spend hours without speaking. Faith, the Bible tells us, is belief in the things unseen. That belief is what will guide so many of our neighbors in solemn reflection and reverence. I wish all those observing Good Friday a blessed day of peace.

Wishing a blessed Palm Sunday to Christians across NYC. In italy, while palm branches are used, olive branches are more common in many parts of the country, as they are more readily available and symbolize peace. Wishing all a peaceful start to the most Holy Week. 🙏✝️

If @FDNY Chief Savings Officer Lizette Christoff has initiatives that she is able to pull funding from, I hope she's telling @NYCMayor that it’s going towards fixing issues like this in our firehouses ⬇️ @UFANYC @UFOA854

I would like @dsny and @NYCMayor to tell me why my neighbors are getting harassed if their compost pail isn’t out but people who run open streets (which really means close the street to cars and pretend that we’re doing something) can just leave the garbage everywhere.

Yesterday the @NYC_DOT 🤥 Associate Deputy Commissioner, Sean Quinn of the Office of Livable Street testified regarding obstacles to life safety on Montague Street in Brooklyn that were brought to our attention by the local firehouse. “In our designs specifically making sure that nothing is in with the 30 feet coverage on Montague St.specifically, it didn't meet the definition of a major transportation project so it wasn't submitted through the portal. However, we did an on site with the local house and have moved all of the barricades away indicated or issues post implementation. So we were out there with them working to make sure that anything that may not have been within that 30 foot, if anything shifted or moved, we've since moved it and had that on the ground coordination." FDNY FF Forsyth from that same local firehouse testified that all of the obstacles hindering emergency response and blocking fire hydrants remained in place and they were never consulted.
