At the time, Intel was getting smoked while the rest of the chip space was running hard from AI. They’re still one of the biggest semiconductor companies in the world, but they were way behind and dealing with a ton of negative sentiment, leadership questions, and a weak stock. I thought there’s no way this company fails. The strongest sector had one of the biggest names getting beat down and hated on by a lot of people. Didn’t make sense to me.
