@Clevta What about the implied value of really stopping Cade weighted for his outsized usage rate and role in Detroit’s offense? Would think that’d balance out some of the negative effect of Wade’s offense. Wonder if there’s a way to run analysis on that tradeoff,

I keep hearing putting Wade on Cade. I'd rather have Tyson on him bc I also have his playmaking on offense likely vs Duncan Robinson. Detroit hiding Robinson on Wade just eliminates a strong advantage the Cavs could have. Obv Strus may start over both and is still > Wade here imo

@finkn23 God I hope so. This will feel like such a waste of an entire season if they don’t. Regression could not be on the table.

I guess my hot take on the Cavs is they clearly figured something out in the 4th quarter last night. I feel mildly confident they will just come out and take care of business tomorrow.

@___Colb___ I get the sentiment but they don’t really have any better options or ways to get better prospects and stay competitive. I cannot go through another rebuild this soon.

Spot on @EjElite1. There’s a good argument to be made that moments like these are the only times a head coach in the NBA actually makes a meaningful difference, and Atkinson+staff have simply not answered the bell. No disrespect Kenny but, if not now, then why are you here?

"This series was supposed to be about finding answers and I think the only answer that the Cleveland Cavaliers have given fans and the media is we have more questions. Darko (Rajakovic) has simply outcoached Kenny Atkinson" ➡️ @EjElite1 w/ @earldapearl_216 and @mcmarkoch on the #Cavs facing a Game 7 vs #Raptors

@Tony_Pesta I’m actually pretty frustrated by those numbers though. That the Cavs, with this roster, are lagging behind the Raptors in 3pt% and FT% when all we heard were how bad the Raps were shooting. Just…so frustrating.

I get wanting to go for the win, but if you’re gonna call the play for Mobley with 1.2 left, that has to be at the basket, not away from it. Just a horrific, horrific play. This is on the coaches as much as the players, if not more.
Mike Zavagno@MZavagno11

Generally speaking I think this highlights the larger offensive coaching failure in the series. The Raptors have top locked and denied the Cavs constantly. The Cavs staff have not been willing to accept that and run more things going away from the ball. They’ve made life hard

@realcavsfans What do you think - did the 3 guard lineup with Mitchell, Harden and Schroder solve the top-lock issue that gave the offense so much issue in games 3+4? Certainly looked like a turning point moment.

@abby_mueller_ Even if it doesn’t work out as everyone thinks it will, this tells me at the very least they had the correct evaluation process, and that gives me a lot of hope moving forward

@basketballtalk Someone correct me on this, but…if he really got a concussion from that hard of a fall, there’s no way he’s actually healthy by Friday, right? Like scientifically? I get they want to win the game, but 2.5 days just can’t be enough time to heal

@HPbasketball They probably are, but like I saw @heathcummingssr say, I think it’s the foregone conclusion factor. In the last two seasons, OKC hasn’t felt inevitable. I do think they repeat, but I would have zero surprise if they didn’t. If they do, they’d start to reach that all time for me

I'm really interested by the idea that the Thunder are, objectively, an All-Time team. Wins. Point Differential. Defense. Defense with Offensive Capability. Led by MVP. Depth. Coaching. Culture. Execution. But they do not feel like the all-time great teams *to me* and I do not know why. (Thunder fans, I get they fell like that to you and that people SHOULD view them that way. Read the first part again.) If you're not a Thunder fan, does OKC feel like an all-time great team on par with Warriors 2016, 2017, or say, Heat 2012 (who were objectively much worse than OKC), OKC 2014, 01 Lakers, etc? If not, why not?
