Customs officials at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, Delhi, intercepted a passenger arriving from Bangkok on October 20, 2025. The passenger was followed and stopped after crossing the Customs green channel. Upon examination of the baggage, officers recovered six packets of a green-coloured substance, suspected to be hydroponic weed (ganja), weighing approximately 3,000 grams. Customs, IGI Airport Date: 12.10.2025 Operation: AIU, IGI Airport, New Delhi Seizure: 2991 grams Ganza/Marijuana (net weight) The customs officers of IGI airport, new delhi, have booked a case of smuggling of green colour NDPS substance suspected ganja/marijuana concealed in ten transparent polythene pouches in 02 layers. On the basis of spot profiling against one indian passengers who arrived at T-3, new delhi by flight arrived from bangkok by flight no. ai 2303 dated 12-10-2025. The pax was diverted at green channel for the x-ray of their personal and baggage searches by the customs officers on duty. Subsequently, on examination ten transparent polythene pouches in base of the dark grey colour trolley of the pax bag containing green colour narcotics substance suspected to be ganja/marijuana totally weighing 2991 grams (net weight) was found. When this material was subjected to diagnostic test, prima facie it appeared to be ganja/marijuana. the value of said substance is 2.991 crores approx. In view of the above, it was clear that the pax has violated provisions of section 8 of the NDPS act, 1985 and has committed offence punishable under section 20, section 23 and section 29 of NDPS act 1985. Accordingly, the pax have been placed under arrest under section 43(b) of NDPS act, 1985 at about 0930 hrs on 13-10-2025, green colour substance suspected to be ganja/marijuana has been seized along with concealing material and packaging under section 43(a) of NDPS act, 1985. Further investigation in the matter is under process.

During the duty of 08-11.10.2025, the officers at Airport, Mumbai Customs Zone-III, made a seizure of suspected NDPS (Hydroponic Weed) weighing 44.012 Kgs having an illicit market value of approx. Rs. 44.012 crores and recovered wildlife Species Pacman Frogs ,Colombian Dwarf Tarantula, Tarantula, Red Tegu, Argentine Black and White Tegu, Rainbow Boa, Honduran Milk Snake, California Kingsnake, Aldabra Giant Tortoise, Common Cuscus, Green Iguana, Bearded Dragon, Common Blue Tongued Skink across 08 cases. 10 passengers were arrested in the cases.

On 04.10 2025, the officers at Airport Commissionerate, Mumbai Customs Zone-III, recovered Foreign Currency equivalent to Rs. 1.07 crores across 02 cases. The said Currency was found concealed in the hand bag carried by the passengers. 02 passengers were arrested.
