v0.1 of the trainer is finished. This release is focused on initial testing for preflop. More features to follow once I am confident it is stable and ready to move forward. There are still a few places left for testers. If you use Monker and are interested, send me a message.

@Stephen00923750 @wacoscrub Amazing how people get upset with who people want to give money to and for what reason. You’d think it hurts them in some way.

The Lodge poker club was recently raided, leading to the sudden closure and job losses for many dedicated staff members who’ve been part of the community for years. Families are now facing immediate financial struggles to cover rent, bills, and daily expenses. I donated to this fundraiser because the cause really matters to me. If you're able, a share or small contribution can help these employees get through this tough time and show that the Lodge family is stronger together. gofund.me/8abf95692

@berkey11 @OnlyFriends_Pod Let's say Sklansky (among others) bears some responsibility for Brandi's suicide. Is there some added sense of justice for her to kick dirt on the grave of this man? In general, I am addressing the cold, heartless, toxic, out-of-control sensibility of all our new public forums.

There were hundreds of his own accounts of what happened on the 2+2 forum that he himself owned (and were included in this pod). All of this played out VERY publicly. Why should he get the platform to tell, a now, one-sided story given Brandi can no longer speak for herself on the matter? You're welcome to say this isn't journalism, no one is pretending it is, that doesn't mean the story shouldn't be told.

@OnlyFriends_Pod This podcast was abundantly irresponsible in its presentation of the facts and conclusions reached by the panelists. It should not be revisited, it should be retired. Not sure of Sklansky's culpability based on partial information, plus podcast decided not to reach out to him.

Irresponsible? The fact David and Mason let stuff go on like this was irresponsible: forumserver.twoplustwo.com/29/news-views-… But I guess it’s easy for poker players to defend when Sklansky writes it off as a +EV bussiness decision. Mason and David let whatever go on on 2+2 as long as it was good for business and banned people and deleted posts who spoke out or openly disagreed. But go on and defend it. While you’re at it go ahead and defend the scum in the thread above to.

It's easy to lionize someone in death for all their positive contributions, but equally important to remember who people are at their core based on their actions in life. For the younger generation who may not have known Sklansky here's on our our earliest episodes on his checkered past. youtube.com/live/dg4Aep58F…

The amount of people defending the things he did and said is rediculous. Many of the posts on 2+2 regarding this topic read like something from an incel community. The fact the owners and mods let this go on says a lot. Sklansky even laughed it off stating how he estimated he’d made $50k off her being on the site. It was all about the money. If you stumbled on it by accident there’s no way you’d think it was a “professional poker forum.” forumserver.twoplustwo.com/29/news-views-… forumserver.twoplustwo.com/29/news-views-… forumserver.twoplustwo.com/29/news-views-…

You can call thinking the not housing up and sleeping with underage runaway girls is better than someone who does as prideful if you want. You can call not threatening someone with having paint or acid thrown on them and suggesting they should go kill them selves is better than someone who does as prideful if you want. You can call not tolerating activity like open sexual harassment, degrading comments, ridiculous treatment, of females on a platform I own or run as better than someone who does as prideful if you want. I could go on and on but if you call thinking you being a decent human is better than someone who does these things is prideful, then I own the label without reservation. Yes people can make their own decisions. You’ve obviously made yours. You choose to judge him based on a few books of theoretical knowledge and not by the man many know he was. I’d say that says a lot about what you value.

@PLOwingPots @MrCashIsBACKacr You're implying you're better than he was, that's prideful. People can make their own decisions based on the facts. Since he's not a danger to anyone, judgment isn't really required at this point.

David Sklansky, a legend in the poker world, has died and is being remembered for some of his most well known and public words. Here are some of his less known quotes, that only a few who have been around a while know. “If I had known she was a runaway or that she was 16 I would have sent her on her way. At least at first.” “I can say that every female I ever had a relationship with, including the young ones, does not regret it to this day.” “I was shocked to learn that the "20yo" I was [censored] and living with for a year was actually 16!" “My two odd criminal acquaintances…The other is a desk clerk who arranges the curtains of a motel room that he rents once a week to a certain beatiful female customer. He arranges them in such a way that he can sneak out and watch her undress…Actually, my best friend, now deceased, really did this. And not just for one customer. Obviously the trick is to close the drapes in a way that the patron does not think it needs further adjustment. While leaving a tiny sliver opening in just the right spot.” “As long as even a small fraction of woman suffer PMS to the point where it occasionaly affects their decisions, that one fact is highly relevant as far as voting for a woman president is concerned. At least until she is of the age that doctors agree the syndrome no longer occurs.” “I have young friends, who have friends, who have friends who do nasty things at the blink of an eye. Drive by shootings etc. To do something like throw some paint on a good dress would be nothing to them…They might even think I'd like it better if it was acid rather than paint…Basically the only option available is to leave the poker world forever. Ply your trade elsewhere. Suicide wouldn't be a bad option either. If you do that I will promise to stop badmouthing you.” "I just want people to look at me like they did Solomon back in the days of Israel. Whenever people have a problem, I want them to think, 'What would David do here?' I know that plenty of people do that already." Yes let’s remember the Solomon of the poker world. If in doubt just ask, “What would David do here?”

His books and forum were among the biggest influences on me and so many others getting into poker. In terms of transitioning poker from a game for crooks/gamblers, into rivaling chess/go for highest skill ceiling game out there- I'd say no one played a larger role than Sklansky

RIP to David Sklansky. Thankful for his part in creating the internet forum that had me meet all of my nearest and dearest friends and really helped shape my life; disgusted by the absolute monster that he was and hope some people can finally find peace now.

In a time before poker solvers and GTO bots, poker players had books. The Fundamental Theorem of Poker: Every time you play a hand differently from the way you would have played it if you could see all your opponents' cards, they gain; and every time you play your hand the same way you would have played it if you could see all their cards, they lose. Conversely, every time opponents play their hands differently from the way they would have if they could see all your cards, you gain; and every time they play their hands the same way they would have played if they could see all your cards, you lose. RIP

I learned that David Sklansky passed away today. Regardless of his thoughts & faults, there's no denying that he was one of the most influential individuals in the game of poker, especially in the 1970s and 80s. The Theory of Poker was a game-changer. pokernews.com/news/2014/02/p…

A “legend” who did not write 18 books. Many be coauthored with much of the content arguably being provided by the other authors. Even his most monumental book likely wouldn’t exist or be known if it weren’t for Roger Dionne’s significant help on expansion and revision of Sklansky on Poker Theory which became Winning Poker and later The Theory of Poker. Even 2+2 forums, which so many people credit Sklansky for was really partially funded by Sklansky who, according to Mason, “wasn't involved with the running of [twoplustwo.com]. His purpose was to do some posting and we would also use his name to promote twoplustwo.com.” I’m not discounting his technical genius or understanding of the game, but much of his success and fame was helped by many people, and even potentially propped up and pushed along by others for other financial motivations. It’s also widely known that Mason and other 2+2 mods damage controlled significantly, deleting posts of David’s that were not in the best interest of the public image that needed to be portrayed.
