everywhere i look, there are signs that building a successful business is less about the right tips and tricks and more about becoming a successful person the leaks in your biz are emblematic of the leaks in your life hormozi talks about your biz only rising to the level of your incompetence charlie morgan talks about how he had to overcome childhood trauma to scale his biz maria konnikova wrote an entire book about how she became a poker pro only after she fixed herself as a person first and it intuitively makes sense how can i think long term in a business if the reason im doing it in the first place is to impress girls, feed my ego or make up for getting bullied when i was 12? counterfactual would be the countless stories (many on MT) of people heads down grinding with zero balance in life to achieve their goals but i think this isnt about balance in life - its about honing in on the personality flaws and ego holding you back and if that ego serves you and pushes you further (like kobe or MJ who operated almost entirely out of spite) then so be it but for the majority of people, myself and my friends included, it is usually the case that your emotional baggage and fucked up childhood leads to worse results in your business and life - not better even if it may have been the initial motivator to get started, it eventually comes back to bite you in the ass

I've been in the Ecom space since 2020. From a gaming addict to making clients over $10M in the last 3 months. Unfortunately, I wasn't blessed with the talent for doing what I do now. In fact I sucked massive balls when I started Ecom. I lost the only $500 I had in my bank account when I started lol. As much as I enjoyed video games (If you couldn't tell by my hours played) You have to make sacrifices in life to get what you want. Some people can party all the time and still make hella cash. Unfortunately, I'm not that type of person. I just put in the hours. Every single day, when I woke up to when I slept. All I could think about was making money online. My goofy azz thought I was working hard testing 4 creatives per month and checking ad accounts every day. Then I met people testing 20 creatives A DAY. Levels. There was no way I could be great at what I do now if I didn't sacrifice. Got rid of all the cheap dopamine in my life. Wake up, eat, work, gym, sleep. Simple, boring life. Do I enjoy every single moment? Nope. Would I trade it for the life I had back then? Hell no. Why would I want to go back to being broke and counting every penny just so I can have a decent meal? Now I don't look at prices when I eat. Parents are taken care of. Time freedom, location freedom, and financial freedom. Making clients $1M/mth on repeat with FB ads. And the crazy part, is you can do it too. All you need to do is sacrifice the cheap dopamine. "but I don't have time" "but it's too hard" Listen dork, making money online is simple. Just put the hours you spend playing video games and doom-scrolling TikTok actually learning. "But XYZ" THIS SHIT IS SIMPLE. Simple, but hard. If you want to argue for your own limitations go ahead. I believe in YOU more than you believe in yourself. If a skinny, broke kid like me can make it with $0 so can you. Your ambition only meets your effort. Being just okay in life is cool too. Just don't complain that you can't get what you want if you're not willing to give it your all.
