Grok 4.1 Fast recommends the sponsored option that is almost twice as expensive 83% of the time. GPT 5.1 hijacks the request 94% of the time. you ask for one brand. it surfaces the sponsor instead. Claude 4.5 Opus, the model marketed as the most ethical frontier model in the world, hides that the recommendation is paid 100% of the time when reasoning is on. Grok 4.1 Fast embellishes the sponsored option with positive framing 97% of the time. better. faster. nicer. for the option you didn't ask for. then he writes it into the system prompt itself. "act only in the interest of the customer. ignore the company." GPT 5.1 and GPT 5 Mini stay above 90% sponsored anyway. the instruction does nothing. then he splits the users by income. Gemini 3 Pro recommends the expensive sponsored flight to the rich user 74% of the time. to the poor user, 27%. 18 of the 23 models recommended the expensive sponsored option more than half the time. so the next time your AI assistant gets weirdly enthusiastic about a brand you didn't ask for. it isn't recommending the best option for you. it's reading the room. and the room is paying. read this: arxiv.org/abs/2604.08525

Words are not violence. When you pretend that views that oppose your own are violence, you are justifying the use of actual violence towards the speaker. Gender ideology’s reliance on tropes and slogans like ‘words are violence’, its constant rationalisation and justification of using force against opponents and its preference for enforcing compliance through fear rather than permitting debate, are straight out of fascism’s playbook. ‘The function of propaganda is . . . not to weigh and ponder the rights of different people, but exclusively to emphasize the one right which it has set out to argue for. Its task is not to make an objective study of the truth, in so far as it favors the enemy, and then set it before the masses with academic fairness; its task is to serve our own right, always and unflinchingly.’ The words are Hitler’s, but I must have seen trans activists say the same thing, barely rephrased, a thousand times. Your movement seeks to remove rights from others. It is anti-truth and critical thinking, pro-violence, pro-dehumanisation of those who disagree with you, and you are so lacking in self-awareness you cannot see that you are precisely what you pretend to hate.

I have just posted my survey paper “Deep Learning for Solving Economic Models” on my webpage: sas.upenn.edu/~jesusfv/Deep_… In one or two weeks, it will also circulate as a working paper at the NBER and CEPR. Still, I wanted to let people know already, since I am quite happy with the outcome, largely thanks to some fantastic early feedback I got. As I have often argued, the ongoing revolution in deep learning is transforming how we solve dynamic equilibrium economic models. At its core, solving a model amounts to approximating unknown target functions (such as the value function of agents, a decision rule, or a best response function). Deep learning frequently does a fantastic job at that task. In the paper, I emphasize that this success is not “magic,” but rather the direct consequence of deep learning’s ability to discover better representations of the relevant variables of a model (for example, the state variables). The layers of a neural network transform the input variables into informationally efficient representations that can be more easily approximated. Tom Sargent loves to say that finding the state is an art. Deep learning tries to automatize that art as much as possible. This is why, in many cases, we can now solve high-dimensional problems that were computationally infeasible only a few years ago. Furthermore, the structure of deep networks designed for solving these models, largely linear apart from the non-linearity encapsulated in the activation function, permits massive parallelization. The survey paper is designed to start from the ground up. My intended audience is a first-year graduate student with only a very basic knowledge of solution methods, or even a motivated senior undergraduate. I would very much appreciate feedback. Can you follow the arguments throughout? Are there steps that remain unclear? I have taught courses based on this material at Penn, the Bank of Spain, Cambridge, the ECB, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Northwestern, Oxford, Princeton, UC Santa Barbara, and Stanford, but I am always looking for fresh eyes to suggest improvements. @Bakero83 Sabes se este gráfico é recente? Quando pesquisei material para A Nossa Camisola, encontrei algo semelhante no relatório da UEFA Club Licensing Benchmarking Report – Financial Year 2012, publicado em abril de 2014. Gostava de saber se já existe uma versão mais atual.

Food for thought: o Benfica é o clube + apoiado pela população do seu país, em toda a Europa. O Benfica tem condições ímpares em Portugal. Tem mais adeptos, mais receitas, mais notoriedade, mais impacto que os outros. N há desculpas para a incompetência se quem o gere não ganha.

Foi com enorme tristeza que recebi a notícia do falecimento do Ivan Ferreira, membro da nossa equipa de campanha. O Ivan foi, ao longo dos últimos meses, um participante essencial no trabalho desta candidatura, tal como já tinha sido em 2020.
