Funny enough we just had similar happen in Bend, OR, but the developer did a very high end complex, received over $10 million in tax breaks, and cut the affordable housing section down to 2 units. People have very right to be skeptical as developers and government are 2 of the shadiest groups out there. Best part is, they are 75% vacant after overpricing their places for a year plus.

We have a public safety crisis in Oregon, and this is partly due to police shortages in our major cities. Portland recently ranked 47th nationwide on police staffing. This report has our police staffing levels at 1990's numbers, despite Portland's population DOUBLING since then.
