Look at this graph from the University of Utah’s own H-1B data. Year after year, they file for hundreds of these visas, and the denial rate is basically zero. Nearly every single Labor Condition Application gets rubber-stamped ‘Certified.’
Tell me, Utah: How exactly is flooding our universities and tech sectors with foreign workers on H-1Bs ‘putting Utahns first’?
Our own graduates, our own kids, and our own skilled workers deserve those opportunities first.
This isn’t workforce development, it’s replacement.
Time to demand real accountability and prioritize Utah families over endless imported labor.

This isn’t a “talent shortage.” It’s corporate America choosing cheaper imported labor over our own kids graduating from Utah universities. Utah’s Silicon Slopes now has over 3,871 open H-1B sponsorship jobs, mostly on-site in Salt Lake City. University of Utah leads the pack, with major employers like Adobe, Qualtrics, and Intermountain Health regularly sponsoring foreign workers. Utahns built this tech corridor. Our graduates deserve first crack at these high-paying software engineering, healthcare, and life sciences roles, not to train their own replacements while wages stagnate and housing costs soar. As your next Congressman for CD3, I’ll fight to pause new H-1B visas until the fraud ends, require proof no qualified American is available, and put Utah workers first. Utah First means American workers first.

The Great Salt Lake is dying. A 9-gigawatt gas-powered data center on its shore will finish the job. This isn't a zoning issue. It's a question of whether rural communities get to protect their land, water, and air, or get steamrolled by outside money.

Trevor Lee screwed over those contractors so badly that… Their own attorney made a motion to dismiss their claim against him—with prejudice—because he had complied with the law and was not to blame. Just incredibly dishonest reporting by KSL from top to bottom here.

Read the added comments after The Deseret Stone's first post. It has nothing to do with who has the most money. This is the process for many people. There is highlighted text that shows Trevor complied with all processes on payment, and this is a dispute between the General Contractor and a subcontractor.. It just happens to involve Trevor's home.

@PMforUtah It’s my experience that it comes down to money. Meaning, cases get dismissed with frequency when the aggrieved party believes they will spend as much or more money trying to make themselves whole, which is no reflection on the person who fell short on their obligation to pay.
