Coaching Quarterbacks during the season for maximum production: 1) Build on exactly what he’s good at and what he loves and has confidence 2) Eliminate what he has proven He CAN’T do 3) Keep his weapons healthy in practice and blowout games…Without someone to make plays he will become “Just a Guy” 4) Make a video of great decisions he’s made in games and emphasize that’s how you’ll make a run at a championship 5) Consistently communicate about life outside of football…Keep his head in good head space… 6) Give him examples of great comebacks from behind and upsets great qbs have produced 7) Show him a game of Brady or Manning throwing 2-3-4 interceptions to remind him that everyone is human and makes mistakes 8) Daily remind him to control the controllable ( watching and studying opponents, diet, sleep, leadership) 9) Remind him that “big numbers” don’t necessarily win championships…Just win 10) Remind him that Big Time Players make Big Time Plays in Big Time Games 11) Consistently remind him to have a short memory…Play one play and then the next…Whether it’s a TD or a tipped interception…Play the next play 12) Remind him that this is the greatest time of life…Playing QB in high school is a thousand times better than most things in life…Enjoy it
