@justdavenow89 I had a lymph node on my neck (next to my Adams apple) swell right up and never go back down.

Oh.. I understand now. If it’s your first rape and you’re deemed low IQ the law doesn’t apply.. thanks for the clarification. I’m sure this won’t encourage other savage rapes and abuse of our women and children. Don’t worry everyone.

Judge Nicholas Rowland praised the boys for their conduct during the trial. “I think of you as very young and none of you have been in any big trouble before” Never mind these evil monsters — hope the women in your life are proud, Nicolas Rowland. Jesus Christ.

I was confident I could of played a major part this summer for my country after the season I’ve had. I’ve been left shocked and gutted by the decision.
I’ve loved nothing more than putting that shirt on and representing my country over the years.
I wish the players, all the best this summer 🏴

@Lana_Florea @JoosyJew It shouldn't even be acknowledged as mitigation. It's completely irrelevant.
English

@JoosyJew How does anxiety or adhd excuse this? Honestly its so so messed up its infuriating and so very sad

I thought for a moment this said “Three boys avoid jail after rape of two teenage girls.”

@SaintsExtra Because he was caught and ran away? He was supposed to be there for 2 days.

🚨 #SaintsFC showed the commission, in its entirety, the footage of Tonda Eckert’s session from the Wednesday before the first leg; in other words before Salt’s spying mission.
The Southampton players had the day off on the Thursday, and on the Friday before the first leg, they did not work on team shape in open play. It was purely a defensive set-piece session, the footage of which they also shared with the panel.
What Southampton and their legal team wanted to show – and which was borne out by the game – was that Eckert’s tactical approach did not change from the session on Wednesday. The club claim their defensive set pieces were not influenced by Salt’s visit to Middlesbrough’s training ground.

@joanne1894 You’re actually clueless if you think you can just sack people in this country. You have to follow a process. Legally. Unless we pay him off, what we won’t want to do.
English

@Connor0744 Southampton argued that their punishment should be the same as Leeds (who rightly didn't sack Bielsa) so would be hypocritical to sack him.

@EFL_Comms Seems to imply more senior figures knew about this 'right from the top...'

The Independent Disciplinary Commission’s written reasons in respect of Southampton FC have now been published.
Yesterday (Wednesday 20 May) a League Arbitration Panel dismissed Southampton’s appeal against the Independent Disciplinary Commission’s sanction. The League Arbitration Panel’s written reasons will be published in due course.

@Samwinton99 @EFL_Comms Also makes it very hard to believe that senior staff didn't know it was against the rules.
English

@EFL_Comms This is the most shameful part and draws very unpleasant parallels with the Cricket Australia's sandpaper incident. I hope this will be taken seriously by the FA when considering possible further penalties for Tonda and other senior officials with knowledge of the issue

@elsathora They lost the other games they spied on so are you suggesting they should retrospectively be changed to wins for Southampton?
English

If Southampton were expelled, the only eligible finalist left is Hull City.
If Middlesbrough were given a retrospective win because of the spying, then every other fixture affected by Southampton’s spying would also have to be overturned.
So which is it?
Elsa@elsathora
I’ve put together a team of the best lawyers in the world EFL rules state the Championship Play Off final is between the two winning semi-finalists Hull City are a winning semi-finalist Middlesbrough are not The only lawful outcome is Hull City’s automatic promotion
English

@tommyrugiada @secondtierpod By your logic though if they had spied and beaten Hull then no one should go up. If Boro don't get to take the win then why would Hull?
English

@secondtierpod If Southampton had not been caught, they would’ve 100% spied on Hull before the final. And if they had been caught then or after the final, they obviously wouldn’t be allowed to go up if they had won. Therefore, Hull would go up automatically. So should happen anyway. UTT
English

Hull City owner Acun Ilicali has suggested the Tigers should be promoted directly to the Premier League.
“Our lawyers’ opinion is that we should go directly to Premier League.
“We had been preparing for Southampton for 10 days. All the planning, analysis, and work was focused on them.”
(Quotes via: @Sport_Witness)

English

@RichQuelch @HullCity I've not seen it come from any Hull fans, only Southampton (and Derby for some reason) fans.
English

For the 100th time - no @HullCity fan thinks like this, Mr Walker.
Stop trying to spin a narrative. We are all footballing friends here, you be even did the rarara action with your hands against Wrexham.
We are the only team in the Final that are there on merit 🤝

Hull fans are now also becoming unbearable in what world do they think they deserve a free pass to the premier league ?
English

@OfSelina @weby4 An assumption?
You keep dodging the question.
IF no advantage was being gained, why did they keep doing it? They did it 3 times that we know of.
The last time they played in Jan 26, Boro thrashed them 4-0 where apparently Saints didn’t spy…
We will never know if spying helped
English

@weby4 But Boro played mainly the same system with the same players
Watching someone train for a few minutes doesn’t manipulate the outcome of a match played over 4 halves and extra time does it
English

@Lancsiron @Bigalanh5 @southampton Why do they have a shout to be reinstated.
So you propose fucking Hull off who have done nothing wrong and promoting Millwall?
English

@Bigalanh5 Don't the team @Southampton knocked out have a shout to be reinstated? Maybe the best would have been to cancel the play offs and allow the team finishing top of the play off league to go up this season like old school times. After all they performed best over the 46 games
English

#spygate
I’m far from convinced that Boro should be replacing Southampton anyway. Boro lost and have left the tournament. Therefore, if Southampton get kicked out then surely Hull get a bye in the Final and go straight into the PL?
English

@saintlavoo You would think there would be clauses in the contract that would prevent compensation for stuff like this.
Reckon he will be gone before the weekend.
English

@Saintsfire @SouthamptonFC You've had your league punishment. The 4 points. That would be the same.
English

Out of interest, what would the punishment be for @SouthamptonFC if we had finished mid table and got found out?
#Saintsfc
English

@IamBalhamMatt "I still haven't had an answer"
"Here are the 5 answers I have had:"
English

I still haven’t had an answer to the question of why spying is worse than, for instance, intentionally fouling high up the pitch to prevent counterattacks as a premeditated tactic.
I’ve heard variants of:
1) Rarara I hate Southampton hahaha you’re out. (Fine, but not an argument)
2) Shouldn’t have cheated then! (Doesn’t address proportionality)
3) Fouls, diving etc. are dealt with in-game (obviously not enough to discourage it which was the main argument for the prosecution in the Saints FC case).
4) How can you compare it to a dive or a foul? (I’m talking about a premeditated strategy involving intentional rule-breaking).
5) Spying gives you a huge advantage, bigger than coordinated, intentional fouling or injuring opponents. (The likes of Shearer, Murphy, O’Hara and Cundy who have played the game at the highest level have come out and said it would have made a minimal difference).
I’ve accepted that Saints fucked around and found out, and all associated within the club need to go, but until I get an answer which lies outside one of those 5 listed above, I’ll be of the opinion we’ve been treated very harshly with a completely disproportionate punishment.
This *is* the footballing equivalent of the death penalty for shoplifting - and if you’re a Saints fan reading this, bottle that sense of injustice inside, make an absolute racket at Saint Mary’s next season - and you watch, teams will crumble against us as they’ve always done, and just like #Boro and even #Arsenal did on the pitch.
