@Braunteaches Such a great unit - if you have Disney+ there is a great National Geographic series on them from about 2019 and the new understanding from the new technology they are using

Some Stone Age stories for anyone looking for some new ones to use 😊
James Haddell@JHaddell

Cracking little Stone Age saga! @spirotta has written a series that can be used in different ways through most of primary. Historically faithful but using creative license to craft a story that really immerses young readers in a prehistoric atmosphere. Looking forward to book 4!

A short blog with templates on how a 'highs and lows' graph can be used as a retrieval task or as a discussion task during or at the end of history units at primary level mrgmathssite.wordpress.com/2021/04/01/his…

Just ran a session with some Sussex school history and curriculum leads and understanding what the history curriculum 'offers' and tells us. It's quite a good framework if you 'know' how to make use of it and really hard if you don't.

If you have a history lesson this week, what are you teaching? (I'd start but we are in the middle of a geography unit currently)

@PR_History History but had a geography twist to it. Locating Anglo-Saxon towns. Got the iPads out and everything. Was all fun and games until it came apparent they didn't know how to use the maps app. 🙃

@PR_History We’re on Ancient Greece and looked at democracy on Monday and looked at their home life today. Children couldn’t believe some of the pets they kept! 😱 They love this unit!

@PR_History I taught a lesson on if Alfred deserved to be known as 'the Great'. We discussed Asser's account and combined with modern interpretations about his reforms and their influence on the conflict in his life and beyond it.

@PR_History We taught about neolithic tech. Used time team vid where they compared flint axes to begin to consider how much had changed since mesolithic. Good old Phil!
