Today’s Supreme Court decision effectively guts a key pillar of the Voting Rights Act, freeing state legislatures to gerrymander legislative districts to systematically dilute and weaken the voting power of racial minorities - so long as they do it under the guise of “partisanship” rather than explicit “racial bias.” And it serves as just one more example of how a majority of the current Court seems intent on abandoning its vital role in ensuring equal participation in our democracy and protecting the rights of minority groups against majority overreach. The good news is that such setbacks can be overcome. But that will only happen if citizens across the country who cherish our democratic ideals continue to mobilize and vote in record numbers - not just in the upcoming midterms or in high profile races, but in every election and every level.

@HansMahncke Note the date on Comey's post boasting he deleted his post thus proving he opposed violence: May 15, 2025. Five days later he was showing off a mock-up of it on Colbert's show. He's a stinking liar who provides his own evidence incriminating himself. x.com/JayTC53/status…

Never forget after James Comey posted his "8647" threat against President Trump. He quickly went on Stephen Colbert to laugh & mock his threat against President Trump. Who's laughing now? There won't be any long walks on the beach with your wife where you're going James.

“When Mr. Comey himself said” because we’re just supposed to take that at face value. 🤣🤣 Kristen is one of the worst fake news operatives out there. She single-handedly buried Hunter’s laptop during the 2020 debate, and now she’s acting as if Comey is a paragon of honesty.

@RepentantS91556 @JayTownAlabama Ours was a simple piece of yellow lined paper marked "86" at the top with the items listed below taped onto a big fridge. Pretty old school. That's how I know the clowns out there defending Comey claiming food service experience are full of crap.

@PTorkamata @JayTownAlabama I'm old enough to remember some restaurants actually having a chalkboard to write the items down on we were out of. So servers could see it as they entered the kitchen as a reminder. Then eventually it went to erasable marker boards.

🚨COMEY🚨 Lots of Google Law School alumnae citing the Counterman case claiming the case against Comey will be dismissed. IT WON'T! The same alums say his post could only be taken as a joke and acquittal is 100% inevitable. IT ISN'T! Here's why: 🧵1/

It’s George Conway. I put everything about my career on the line and left the Republican party to stop Donald Trump and his MAGA sleazebags in Congress. All I’m asking you for is $5 to get me to Congress so we can fight them together in the lion’s den. I’m not taking corporate PAC money so $5 goes a long way. The Deep State groomed Jake Sullivan to become the next President. They arranged a marriage for a 40+ year old bachelor Sullivan to marry Goodlander, the money. The wedding took place in 2015, around the start of the presidential campaign. Hillary was going to be installed but the Sullivan-Goodlander dynasty was going to take over from the Clintons. That's why you have Bill Burns, Tony Blinken etc attending. To stop Donald Trump, Sullivan and Hillary, with the help of Obama, Soros, US and British intelligence devised the Clinton Plan to tie Donald Trump to Russian intelligence, aka Russiagate. President Trump won against all odds. Sullivan was devastated. So he, Soros, Obama and co plotted to take out President Trump. The conspiracy continues to this day. Maggie Goodlander is the ringleader of the Seditious Six.

Jake Tapper wrongly asks US Attorney Jeanine Pirro if she should recuse herself from the WHCD attempted assassination case because she was there. She’s even more suited to prosecute since she saw first-hand what happened! Tapper is not a serious person.

@JayTownAlabama I'd be really interested to know what private communications of Comey's the DOJ has as evidence to incriminate Comey. Given that Comey is obviously careful to speak through coded language (check out his latest book). Is it possible the sneaky weasel slipped up in a text or call?

Oh, that's right. It's just a restaurant term. Means "remove" or "get rid of". Everyone in media and online suddenly bragging about their experience in the food service industry are actually doing a great job making DOJ's case! "86 the pickles" means "get rid of the pickles". Comey's post actually meant "get rid of Trump". Is it totally unreasonable to think "get rid of" is a threat? Is there really an honest disagreement here? Remember, multiple interpretations can all be reasonable!! 17/

@JayTownAlabama Comey cooked his own goose with this appearance on Colbert's show with a mock-up of his post to show off. It destroys his "defense" that he deleted the post once he knew it could be viewed as a threat. I imagine @DAGToddBlanche will be making use of this. x.com/JayTC53/status…

DOJ will have to prove that Comey disregarded the risk that some people could reasonably interpret his post as a threat. Remember, his wife got several concerned calls after the post. Media exploded with criticism. President Trump took it as a call for his assassination. Many were furious at Comey. Are we all just UNREASONABLE?? 16/ nytimes.com/2025/05/16/us/…

@RepentantS91556 @JayTownAlabama I worked in a kitchen too. We kept an "86 list" of items we ran out of to let the head chef know it was time to reorder. We never said "86 the onions" so this excuse for Comey being made by all his stooges fails hard.

@JayTownAlabama Being someone that was in the restaurant business for many years. When we used the term "86", it meant we were out of something on the menu and to let everyone know so they wouldn't sell it. Typically most restaurants would have a board listing items they were out of for servers.

@RepentantS91556 @JayTownAlabama That's why the food lingo explanation makes no sense. 86 in your application means the food item is ALREADY out of stock. Trump wasn't "out of stock" he was still in office when Comey posted so this lame excuse fails. Comey meant it as "86 Trump" meaning get rid of Trump. Period.

Don't lose track of Jay's case quote that it does not matter that Comey might not have intended it as an actual threat. There are two issues -- 1) would a "reasonable person" have understood it to be a "true threat," and 2) did Comey subjectively understand -- or in reckless disregard ignored the likelihood that others would see it as a true threat regardless of his intent. Both those tests are made clear in the language that Jay highlighted.

But, assuming the instruction can legally (consistent with the text and history of 841) be modified to fit the facts of Comey's 8647 (a call to someone in the public to injure/kill the POTUS), the jury would have to unanimously agree beyond a reasonable doubt that

This reads like Gavin Newsom drunk-tweeting into a mirror and calling it leadership, flexing culture-war snark while OutKick lives rent-free in his head, throwing middle-school insults at Tomi Lahren, name-dropping Bad Bunny like a shield, and cheap-shotting Kid Rock instead of, you know, running California where people can’t afford rent, utilities, or insurance, this isn’t governing, it’s clout-chasing cosplay, governors are supposed to fix roads, crime, power grids, and budgets, not write roast threads like a washed influencer, when your big win is dunking on a blog and imaginary retirement homes, it’s not “favorite governor” energy, it’s insecurity with a press badge, lead the state or log off, because the only meltdown here is a guy confusing snark for substance and applause for results.
