@HumzaYousaf Just a ploy for votes, parents need to know the truth. @ELCScotGov and @COSLA have created a two tier system. Any increase in wages has to be charged back to the parents who pay fees. The funding and staffing crisis needs sorted before anything moves forward or it collapses!

Supporting families with affordable and accessible childcare supports employment and the economy. Helping families deal with cost of living pressures is one of my key priorities, and providing further funding to expand childcare provision will help deliver that. #ScotPfG

@NatalieDon_ @scotgov I do wonder what planet you are all on. Unless funding is controlled by an independent body things won’t change. We will all be telling parents this is just another speech for votes with no substance.

@ScotGovEdu @scotgov @COSLA When we know @ScotGovEdu is aware that this is not true, then we can only assume collusion with @COSLA to publicly deny the inequity they have caused to families and workers and to turn a blind eye to LA's abusing the PVI. @COSLA's report is false and @sctogovEdu know this.

@HumzaYousaf Putting up wages puts up the cost of childcare for all the hardworking families who need to pay for the additional hours or who are not entitled to funded placements. You need to STOP and THINK about the implications of your policies. They are hurting too many people.

Increasing pay not only helps the workforce in question, but will also help achieve our wider priorities on child poverty, fair work, and post-Covid recovery in the health and care sector. gov.scot/news/pay-uplif…

Up to 100,000 workers will benefit from @scotgov's £12 an hour pay pledge for social care & childcare staff, 4 out of 5 of which are women. Social care staff like those I met today at @thistlecharity fulfil a vital role and I'm immensely grateful for the contribution they make.

@HumzaYousaf £12 is SLW from next year anyway. What we need in ELC is a national rate for all funded children. The two tier system that currently exists allows LA's to fund their provision at a much higher rate, creating a two tier system. This needs to STOP!

The SNP have gone from promising to abolish the unfair council tax, to freezing it, to now proposing the biggest hikes ever. Sixteen years on from that promise they're not an inch further forward.

@NatalieDon_ @scotgov This is a non event @NatalieDon_ PVI ain’t stupid as RLW would be £12 in April anyway. The issue is with the last 3yrs funding rates not keeping pace with cost rises, unless of course @HumzaYousaf @neilcgray are planning on the required 25% min funding rate rise. @2020Together

@NatalieDon_ @scotgov So @scotgov are to increase funding to PVI so they can pay on parity the same wages as LA's, where is the funding coming from? If LA's are permitted to manage this it will be another disaster just like 1140.

Hugely positive announcement in today’s #PfG that @scotgov will provide funding so that staff in the Private, Voluntary and Independent sector, who deliver funded early learning and childcare, are paid a minimum of £12 an hour from April of next year.

@HumzaYousaf @scotgov @thistlecharity All the more reason to ensure the services are paid their worth @HumzaYousaf. Equal funding for children and equal pay for as you highlight predominately female workforce. There will still be a c30% disparity in salaries between private & public sectors. #SameJobSamePay

@NatalieDon_ @scotgov This is just adding more mess and distress, you need to sort out 1140 first and foremost. National rate for providers and not via LA's who are clearly not ensuring that the full funding follows the child. There is no partnership it's an abusive relationship.

@HumzaYousaf All you are doing is making a bigger shambles than ever. Sort out 1140, get that working before you do anything else. fair pay, national rate per child, not via LA's, we do not need another layer of bureaucracy and opinions. We need to do our job and be paid fairly to do that.

@HumzaYousaf 1140 is a disaster, created a two tier system, means parents who work more than 22.8 hours per week are going to have to pay through the nose for childcare. Policies created by those who sit on their ass in an office and have no idea of the real world!

@NatalieDon_ @scotgov You still have the huge inequities of 1140 to sort out, simple solution, national rate paid direct to providers no LA's wasting funding on middle men who top slice and starve PVI of fair funding and opportunity to to provide equity of pay. SORT 1140 rate first!

@neilcgray @BBCScotNine @HumzaYousaf Expanding childcare without sorting out the absolute shambles and inequity of 1140. There needs to be a national rate paid per hour per child, dependent on age, child's ASN. £12 hr wage, won't happen till you sort out the mess.

I wonder if the unequal pay for women ELC workers will have an impact on @theSNP chances in upcoming by -election @HumzaYousaf @neilcgray 🤔 it certainly should imo. This @scotgov are complicit in endorsing non fair work practices. Sign of bigger challenges to come. Action needed
princessjacs.@Princess_Jacs

@442ben @elc1140 @COSLA @STVNews @2020Together In all honesty the public sector does not cater for working families, they need establishments that are open all year round and offer hours more than 9-3, PVI does this perfectly imo.

I didn’t think this would happen under @HumzaYousaf but the evidence is overwhelming, @theSNP continue to support the demise of the PVI ELC sector, @COSLA are cracking the whip. This will harm 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 economy and 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 children. @2020Together we need your support to challenge this.
ffs@ffsfairfunding1

Wow, you are spot on Jim, @ELCScotGov have totally disengaged the whole PVI ELC sector @theSNP @ScotTories @ScottishLabour @scotlibdems. They do not want to hear the truth, they simply seek data to support their own narrative @SP_ECYP @heraldscotland
