Today’s victory reminds me of the Thirukural: “என்னைமுன் நில்லன்மின் தெவ்விர் பலரென்னை முன்நின்று கல்நின் றவர்” which translates to: “O my foes, stand not before my leader; for many who did, have turned to stone today.” Our leader Hon. CM @mkstalin has turned to stone all those who sought to undermine the democratically elected Government and has reaffirmed that the will of the people of Tamil Nadu is supreme!

It was truly a joyful moment to be among the retired and retiring Members of Parliament alongside Hon'ble @VPIndia. The Hon'ble @VPIndia honoured all outgoing MPs, including myself, for my previous term 2019-2025 with a memento at a separate event held at his residence on the same day. Hon'ble Thalaivar @mkstalin has already extended my term again in July 2025, and I continue to serve as an MP. @arivalayam @aifsoj

Today, I participated in and delivered a speech at the ‘Mahakumbh’ at the Constitution Club in New Delhi on the importance of a caste census organised by “We the People”. I emphasised the need to include SEBC (OBC) in the questionnaire and to ensure the OBC census is made apart from the SC / ST. This will help increase OBC reservations from 27% of the population and break the judicial ceiling of 50%. I thanked the organisers, Shri Pradeep Verma (Chairperson, We The People), Shri Sukhveer, Ajay Vikram Singh, and Prof. Dr Suraj Mandal, for organising this event to raise awareness about the necessity of a caste census, including OBC communities. அமலாக்கத்துறையின் செயல்பாடுகள் குறித்து நாடாளுமன்றத்தில் நான் எழுப்பிய கேள்விகளுக்கு நிதித்துறை இணையமைச்சர் திரு.பங்கஜ் சவுத்ரி அவர்கள் அளித்துள்ள பதிலானது, அமலாக்கத் துறை என்பது ஒரு தேவையற்ற பண விரயம் மற்றும் வீண் செலவு என்பதை நிரூபித்துள்ளது. கடந்த 5 ஆண்டுகளில் அமலக்கத்துறைக்கு ஒதுக்கப்பட்ட நிதியானது விண்ணளவு உயர்ந்துள்ளது. 2021-22 ஆம் ஆண்டில் ரூ.304.66 கோடியாக இருந்த இந்த நிதி ஒதுக்கீடு, 2025-26 ஆம் ஆண்டில் மலைக்கத்தக்க வகையில் ரூ.1,053.92 கோடியாக உயர்ந்துள்ளது. ஒட்டுமொத்தமாக, 2021 -2026 வரையிலான காலகட்டத்தில், ஒன்றிய அரசானது சுமார் ரூ.3,444 கோடி வரிசெலுத்துவோரின் பணத்தை அமலாக்கத் துறைக்காக ஒதுக்கியுள்ளது. இந்த ரூ.3,444 கோடி நிதி ஒதுக்கீட்டினால் நமக்கு கிடைத்தது என்ன? ஏப்ரல் 2021 முதல் பிப்ரவரி 2026 வரையிலான காலக்கட்டத்தில், அமலாக்கத் துறை 4,377 அமலாக்க வழக்குகள் தொடர்பான தகவல் அறிக்கைகளை பதிவு செய்துள்ளது. நாடு முழுவதும் 9,964 சோதனைகளை நடத்தியுள்ளது.. மேலும் பணமோசடி தடுப்புச் சட்டம்- 2002 -ன் கீழ் 903 நபர்களைக் கைது செய்துள்ளது. அமலாக்கத் துறை இதுவரை 124 நபர்கள் சம்பந்தப்பட்ட 59 வழக்குகளில் மட்டுமே தண்டனை பெற்றுத் தந்துள்ளது. இதன் பொருள் என்னவென்றால், 4,377 விசாரணைகள், 9,964 சோதனைகள் மற்றும் 903 கைதுகளுக்குப் பிறகு, வெறும் 124 நபர்கள் மட்டுமே குற்றவாளிகளாக நிரூபிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர். சதவீதம் அடிப்படையில், அமலாக்கத்துறையினால் கைது செய்யப்பட்டவர்களில் வெறும் 13.73% பேர் மட்டுமே குற்றவாளிகளாக நிரூபிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர்.வேறு வகையில் சொல்வதானால், அமலாக்கத் துறையினால் கைது செய்யப்பட்டவர்களில் 86.27% பேர் நிரபராதிகள். அப்படியானால் சற்று சிந்தித்துப் பாருங்கள், தங்களின் அரசியல் எஜமானர்களைத் திருப்திப்படுத்துவதற்காக மட்டுமே அமலாக்கத்துறையானது கைது, சோதனை, சமூக அவமதிப்புகள் உள்ளிட்டவற்றை மேற்கொள்கிறது. இந்தக் காலகட்டத்தில் பதிவுசெய்யப்பட்ட 4,377 ECIR-களின் அடிப்படையில் பார்த்தால், தண்டனை பெற்றவர்களின் எண்ணிக்கை மிக மிகக் குறைவு. பதிவு செய்யப்பட்ட 98 % அதிகமான வழக்குகளில் தண்டனைகள் எதுவும் வழங்கப்படவில்லை. பணமோசடி தடுப்புச் சட்டன் கீழ் லஞ்சப் புகார்கள் தொடர்பான சுமார் 620 வழக்குகளை அமலாக்கத் துறை கையில் எடுத்துள்ளதாக அரசின் பதில் தெரிவிக்கிறது. இந்த வழக்குகளில், ரூ.12,295 கோடி மதிப்பிலான சொத்துக்கள் மற்றும் குற்றத்தின் மூலம் ஈட்டப்பட்ட வருமானம் ஆகியவை இணைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன, பறிமுதல் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளன அல்லது முடக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. இந்த விசாரணைகளின் ஒரு பகுதியாக, 126 நபர்கள் கைது செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளனர்; மேலும் 286 குற்றப்பத்திரிகைகளும், 90 கூடுதல் குற்றப்பத்திரிகைகளும் தாக்கல் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளன. இவ்வளவு அதிரடியான நடவடிக்கைகள் எடுக்கப்பட்ட போதிலும், லஞ்சம் தொடர்பான இந்த வழக்குகளில் இதுவரை வெறும் 29 நபர்கள் மட்டுமே தண்டிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர். லஞ்ச ஊழல் வழக்குகளில் இது வெறும் 4.67% தண்டனை விகிதம் மட்டுமே. கடந்த 5 ஆண்டுகளில் அமலாக்கத் துறை மொத்தம் 88 நபர்களுக்கு மட்டுமே தண்டனை பெற்றுத் தந்துள்ள நிலையில்,ஒரு நபரைக் குற்றவாளி என நிரூபிப்பதற்கான முதலீடு சராசரியாக ரூ.38.69 கோடி மக்கள் வரிப்பணமாக உள்ளது. இந்த எண்களானது, அடிப்படையான மற்றும் தவிர்க்கமுடியாத கேள்விகளை எழுப்புகிறது. அமலாக்கத் துறை போன்ற ஒரு விசாரணை அமைப்பு, ஆயிரக்கணக்கான கோடி ரூபாய் பொதுமக்களின் வரிப்பணத்தைச் செலவழித்தும், மிகக் குறைவான நீதித்துறை முடிவுகளை மட்டுமே எட்டுவதற்கு என்ன காரணம்? விசாரணைகளும் கைதுகளும் மிக வேகமாக அதிகரிக்கும் வேளையில், தண்டனை விகிதம் மிகக் குறைவாகவே இருப்பது,அமலாக்கத் துறை ஒரு முதன்மையான நிதிக்குற்றப் புலனாய்வு அமைப்பாகச் செயல்படுவதற்குப் பதிலாக,அரசியல் எதிரிகளைப் பழிவாங்கும் ஒரு கருவியாகவே பயன்படுத்தப்படுகிறது என்ற பிம்பத்தை தவிர்க்க முடியாமல் உருவாக்குகிறது. ஒன்றிய அரசே அதிகாரப்பூர்வமாகப் பதிவு செய்துள்ள இந்தத் தரவுகள்,மிகவும் கவலைக்குரிய ஒரு போக்கை வெளிச்சம் போட்டுக் காட்டுகின்றன.அதாவது, நிதி ஒதுக்கீடு மற்றும் அதிகாரங்கள் பெருமளவில் விரிவாக்கம் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளன.நாடு முழுவதும் தீவிரமான அமலாக்க நடவடிக்கைகள் எடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.ஆனால்,நீதித்துறை ரீதியான முடிவுகள் மிக மிகக் குறைவாகவே உள்ளன. அதிகாரம்,செலவினம் மற்றும் அதன் முடிவுகளுக்கு இடையே உள்ள இத்தகைய மிகப்பெரிய முரண்பாடு தீவிரமான ஆய்வுக்கு உட்படுத்தப்பட வேண்டியது அவசியம்.ஏனெனில்,சட்டத்தைப் பாதுகாப்பதற்காக உருவாக்கப்பட்ட அமைப்புகள் ஒருபோதும் அரசியல் மிரட்டலுக்கான கருவிகளாக மாறுவதற்கு அனுமதிக்கப்படக் கூடாது. அமலாக்கத் துறையை முழுமையாகச் சீரமைப்பதற்கும்,பணமோசடி தடுப்புச் சட்டம்மறுசீரமைக்கவும் சரியான தருணம் இதுவாகும்.

To my Parliament Question on the functioning of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), The MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE @mppchaudhary Minister of Finance has replied, proving that the Enforcement Direcorate is a money drain & wasteful expenditure❗️ 🔺The budget allocated to the Enforcement Directorate has skyrocketed over the past five years. It has increased from ₹304.66 crore in 2021–22 to a staggering ₹1,053.92 crore in 2025–26. In total, between 2021 and 2026, the Union Government has allocated approximately ₹3,444 crore of taxpayers’ money to the ED. 🔺What has ₹3,444 crores got us? Between April 2021 and February 2026, the ED registered 4,377 ECIRs, conducted 9,964 searches across the country, and arrested 903 persons under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002. 🔺However, ED has secured convictions only in 59 cases involving 124 persons. This means that after 4,277 investigations, 9,964 raids, and 903 arrests, only 124 persons were found guilty. 🔺In percentages : ❎Only 13.73% of persons arrested by ED were found guilty - in other words 86.27% of the people arrested by ED have been found innocent! ❎Now imagine what that means - arrest, raid and social humiliation for nothing except pleasing their political bosses! ❎When viewed in the context of 4,377 ECIRs registered during this period, the number of convictions is miniscule - in effect, more than 98 percent of the ECIR regiaterer have not resulted in conviction! 🔺The government’s reply also states that the ED has taken up around 620 cases related to bribery charges under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002. In these cases, properties and proceeds of crime amounting to ₹12,295 crore have been attached, seized, or frozen. As part of these investigations, 126 persons have been arrested and 286 prosecution complaints along with 90 supplementary complaints have been filed. Yet, despite these dramatic enforcement actions, only 29 persons have been convicted so far in these bribery-related cases. 🔺That's a conviction rate of 4.67% in bribery cases! 🔺So in 5 years, ED has secured conviction of 88 persons - at a RoI of ₹38.69 crores per conviction! 🔺These numbers raise a fundamental and unavoidable question: why has an agency that consumes thousands of crores of public money produced so few final judicial outcomes? When investigations and arrests multiply rapidly but convictions remain extremely limited, it inevitably creates the impression that the ED is being used more as a political weapon than as a premier financial crime investigation agency. 🔺The data placed on record by the Union Government itself exposes a deeply worrying pattern - enormous expansion in budget and powers, aggressive enforcement actions across the country, but very limited judicial outcomes. Such a mismatch between power, expenditure, and results demands serious scrutiny, because institutions meant to uphold the law must never be allowed to become instruments of political intimidation. It's time to reform the ED top to bottom and revamp Prevention of Money Laundering Act 2002. @mkstalin @Udhaystalin @arivalayam @aifsoj

The Hon’ble FM @nsitharamanoffc response is a classic exercise in deflection - long on statistics, but completely silent on the core issue raised by me: withholding of funds that rightfully belong to the state of Tamil Nadu. No one is disputing that overall allocations have increased. That is inevitable in a growing economy with an expanding budget. The real question is simple: If allocations have increased, why are states like Tamil Nadu being denied funds that have already been approved, recommended, and even accounted for? ❌ ₹3,548 crore under Samagra Shiksha to Tamil Nadu, approved by the Project Approval board, remains unpaid despite Parliamentary Standing Committee (March 2025) recommendations. ❌ You did not release ₹3,112 crore under the Jal Jeevan Mission. ❌ You did not release ₹729.88 crore under MGNREGS. ❌ You did not release ₹2,246 crore in Finance Commission grants. ❌ And on top of that, you are now backtracking on a ₹7,590 crore commitment for the Hogenakkal Phase–III project after approving. If the Union Government truly believes that its spending has increased, then it should have no hesitation in immediately releasing every rupee due to the states. The people of Tamil Nadu are politically conscious and socially aware. They know who collects their taxes. They know who withholds their funds. They know who stands with them in times of crisis. “குடிதழீஇக் கோலோச்சும் மாநில மன்னன் அடிதழீஇ நிற்கும் உலகு.” This Kural tells us that when a ruler governs by embracing and protecting his people, the world itself will stand in loyalty at his feet. A leader who stands with his people in difficult times earns not just authority, but the enduring trust of the people. People of Tamil Nadu have noticed that in the last five years, all Government buildings constructed by our Hon. CM @mkstalin 's #DravidaModel Government have looked futuristic, modern and awesome! Where were these people when: 👉A BJP MP used a racial and communal slur inside the House against a fellow MP? 👉When the Government refuses election to the post of deputy speaker which has been the convention for decades? 👉When PM insults the House by refusing to answer questions of national importance inside the House? 👉When BJP ministers insult the House by making policy announcements outside the House when the House is in session? 👉When opposition MPs are suspended for questioning the Government? 👉When Sessions are shortened to prevent opposition MPs from doing their democratic duty? 👉When 78 opposition MPs are suspended in one day? When 141 opposition MPs were suspended in one session? 👉When the office of President of India & Vice President (and Chairman, Rajya Sabha) were insulted by not inviting them to new Parliament building inauguration?

The sad part is that neither the UP Government nor the Union Government take any sensible steps to clean the Ganga. Sewage and industrial effluents continue to flow into the Ganga, unchecked and with the connivance of government officials. A vast portion of the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) funds is used by the BJP Government for political ads instead of meaningful schemes. All they want to do is create communal tension, not actually protect and preserve the holy river!

What is the offence here exactly? There are a few men on a boat eating food and praying. The poison of communal hatred has been successfully spread across UP & other Hindi belt States by the BJP. This is the danger heading towards Tamil Nadu now. We must preserve our culture of diversity, brotherhood and tolerance! Say no to BJP! Save Tamil Nadu!

As vice chairman, I delivered a tribute, reflecting on Dr Syngkon’s political journey, his gentle nature, and his deep affection for the people, culture, and land of the North Eastern region. He was a leader of integrity and humility, whose unwavering commitment to public service and dedication to the development of the Northeast, particularly Meghalaya, demonstrated his profound bond with the people. தமிழ்நாட்டில் இருந்து நேபாளத்திற்கு புனிதப் பயணம் மேற்கொண்ட 24 யாத்ரீகர்கள், அங்குள்ள கோர்க்கா மாவட்டம், சாஹித் லக்கான் அருகே இரண்டு வேன்களில் சென்று கொண்டிருந்தபோது சாலை விபத்தில் சிக்கியுள்ளனர். அவர்களுக்குத் தேவையான அவசர உதவிகள் மற்றும் ஒருங்கிணைப்பு பணிகளை மேற்கொள்ளக் கோரி, ஒன்றிய வெளியுறவுத்துறை அமைச்சர் மாண்புமிகு ஜெய்சங்கர் @DrSJaishankar அவர்களுக்குக் கடிதம் எழுதியுள்ளேன். அவர்கள் பயணம் செய்த இரண்டு வேன்களில் ஒன்று சாலை ஓரத்தில் சுமார் 200 மீட்டர் பள்ளத்தில் விழுந்ததாகக் கூறப்படுகிறது. இந்தத் துயரமான விபத்தில் ஐந்து ஆண்கள் மற்றும் இரண்டு பெண்கள் என தமிழ்நாட்டைச் சேர்ந்த ஏழு பேர் சம்பவ இடத்திலேயே உயிரிழந்துள்ளனர்.. மேலும் பலர் காயமடைந்துள்ளனர். உயிரிழந்தவர்களின் விவரங்கள் : அண்ணாமலை (58) – திருவொற்றியூர், சென்னை., விஜயாள் (56) – திருவொற்றியூர், சென்னை., சிவகாமி (54) – திருவொற்றியூர், சென்னை., மீனாட்சி (58) – திருவொற்றியூர், சென்னை., முத்துக்குமார் (58) – பொள்ளாச்சி, கோவை., மீனா (54) – பொள்ளாச்சி, கோவை., தமிழரசி (60) – பொள்ளாச்சி, கோவை. காத்மாண்டுவில் உள்ள இந்தியத் தூதரகம் மூலம் உறுதிப்படுத்தப்பட்ட தகவலின்படி, கோர்க்கா மாவட்டக் காவல்துறை அதிகாரிகள் உயிரிழந்தவர்களின் உடல்களை பிரேதப் பரிசோதனை செய்து, எம்பாமிங் செய்வதற்காக காத்மாண்டுவிற்கு அனுப்பி வைத்துள்ளனர். எம்பாமிங் நடைமுறைகள் மற்றும் தேவையான ஆவணப் பணிகள் முடிந்த பிறகு, உயிரிழந்தவர்களின் உடல்களை இந்தியா கொண்டு வருவதற்கான ஏற்பாடுகள் செய்யப்பட்டு வருகின்றன. இருப்பினும், இடவசதி மற்றும் போக்குவரத்தில் உள்ள கட்டுப்பாடுகளால், ஒரு ஏர் இந்தியா விமானத்தில் ஒரே நேரத்தில் இரண்டு உடல்களை மட்டுமே கொண்டு வர முடியும் என்று தெரிவிக்கப்படுகிறது. காயமடைந்தவர்களைப் பொறுத்தவரை, பயணம் செய்வதற்குத் தகுதியுள்ளவர்கள் என மருத்துவச் சான்றிதழ் பெற்ற மூன்று நபர்களான சுபத்ரா (74), சரோஜா (72) மற்றும் மீனாட்சி (34) ஆகியோர் 16.03.2026 அன்று இரவு 9:30 மணிக்குக் காத்மாண்டுவிலிருந்து டெல்லிக்குப் புறப்படத் திட்டமிடப்பட்டதாகத் தெரிகிறது. அவர்கள் பொள்ளாச்சி மற்றும் அவர்களது சொந்த ஊர்களுக்குப் பயணத்தைத் தொடர்வதற்கு முன்னதாக, தங்குமிடம் மற்றும் உணவிற்கான ஏற்பாடுகள் தமிழ்நாடு இல்லம் மூலம் ஒருங்கிணைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இவர்கள் அனைவரும் பொள்ளாச்சி, கோயம்புத்தூரைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள். காயமடைந்த மற்ற நான்கு நபர்களான வெங்கடாசலம் (72), உமையாள் (62), பாக்கியம் (65), சொர்ணம் (72) ஆகியோர் தற்போது மருத்துவ அறிவியல் கல்லூரியில் சிகிச்சை பெற்று வருகின்றனர். இந்தியத் தூதரகம் சிகிச்சை பெற்று வருபவர்களின் உடல்நிலை மற்றும் சிகிச்சையைத் தொடர்ந்து கண்காணித்து வருவதாக தெரிகிறது. மேலும், அந்த யாத்ரீகக் குழுவின் மீதமுள்ள பத்து உறுப்பினர்கள் தங்களது திட்டமிட்டப் பயணத்தைத் தொடர்ந்து மேற்கொண்டுள்ளதாகவும், அவர்கள் மார்ச் 18, 2026 அன்று வாரணாசியைச் சென்றடைவார்கள் என்றும், பின்னர் திட்டமிட்டபடி மார்ச் 19, 2026 அன்று சென்னை திரும்புவார்கள் என்றும் தெரியவருகிறது. இந்தத் துயரமான சம்பவத்தைக் கருத்தில் கொண்டு, நேபாளத்தில் உள்ள இந்தியத் தூதரகம் மூலம் உயிரிழந்தவர்களின் உடல்களை விரைவாகத் தாயகம் கொண்டு வரவும், காயமடைந்தவர்களுக்குத் தேவையான தொடர்ச்சியான மருத்துவ சிகிச்சையை உறுதி செய்யவும், அனைத்து அத்தியாவசிய உதவிகளையும் வழங்க வேண்டும் என மாண்புமிகு ஒன்றிய அமைச்சர் திரு.ஜெய்சங்கர் அவர்களைக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டுள்ளேன். பெரும் துயரத்திலும் மனவேதனையிலும் உள்ள குடும்பத்தினருக்குத் தேவையான ஆறுதலையும் நிம்மதியையும் வழங்கும் வகையில், இந்தப் பிரச்சினையில் மாண்புமிகு அமைச்சர் அவர்களின் உடனடித் தலையீட்டையும் கோரியுள்ளேன். @mkstalin @Udhaystalin @arivalayam @aifsoj

I have written a letter to Hon'ble @DrSJaishankar, Union Minister of External Affairs, requesting urgent assistance and coordination regarding a group of 24 pilgrims from Tamil Nadu who travelled to Nepal in two vans and met with a road accident near Sahid Lakhan, Gorkha District, Nepal. One of the vans reportedly plunged nearly 200 metres down a roadside slope, resulting in the tragic loss of seven lives on the spot, while several others sustained injuries. The deceased include five men and two women, all hailing from Tamil Nadu. Their details are as follows: Annamalai (Male, 58) – Tiruvottiyur, Chennai; Vijayal (Female, 56) – Tiruvottiyur, Chennai; Sivakami (Female, 54) – Tiruvottiyur, Chennai; Meenakshi (Female, 58) – Tiruvottiyur, Chennai; Muthukumar (Male, 58) – Pollachi, Coimbatore; Meena (Female, 54) – Pollachi, Coimbatore; and Tamilarasi (Female, 60) - Pollachi, Coimbatore. It has been confirmed through the Embassy of India, Kathmandu, that the police authorities in Gorkha District have completed the post-mortem procedures and transported the remains to Kathmandu for embalming. After the embalming process and the completion of necessary documentation, arrangements are being made for the repatriation of the mortal remains to India. However, it is understood that only two remains can be transported on a single Air India flight due to logistical constraints. Regarding the injured victims, three persons who have been certified medically fit to travel are scheduled to fly from Kathmandu to Delhi on 16.03.2026 at 21:30 hours and are expected to arrive that night. Arrangements for boarding and lodging are reportedly being organised through Tamil Nadu House before their onward journey to Coimbatore and their hometowns. The persons travelling include Subathra (Female, 74), Saroja (Female, 72), and Meenakshi (Female, 34), all from Pollachi, Coimbatore. The remaining four injured individuals are currently undergoing treatment at the College of Medical Sciences. Their details are: Venkatachalam (Male, 72), Umaiyal (Female, 62), Bhakkiam (Female, 65), and Sornam (Female, 72). It is understood that the Indian Embassy is monitoring their treatment and condition. It is also learnt that the remaining ten members of the pilgrimage group have continued their scheduled journey and are expected to reach Varanasi on 18.03.2026, returning to Chennai on 19.03.2026, as per their original itinerary. In light of this tragic incident, I have requested Hon'ble Union Minister @DrSJaishankar to ensure that all necessary assistance is provided through the Indian Embassy in Nepal for the early repatriation of the mortal remains, continued medical care for the injured, and smooth coordination with the Government of Tamil Nadu for transportation and support to the affected families. I have asked for his prompt intervention in this matter, as it would offer much-needed relief to the families enduring immense grief and distress.
