Jeg forstår ikke dette spørgrsmål i TV2s kandidattest: "Københavns Storkreds: Andelen af almen-, andels- og ejerboliger i hovedstadsområdet bør øges, selvom det kan betyde færre indtægter for kommunerne i området"

@RepJackKimble A lot of people in the comments have the right spirit but poor reading comprehension. Love from Denmark🇩🇰 I'm sure my Greenlandic compatriots appreciate the effort as well🇬🇱

Why doesn't Greenland think we'd cherish them and their culture if they became our possession?

Psst, Denmark… Tell this administration the Epstein files are in Greenland… they’ll lose all interest and will never be able to find it.

@Pro_sthesis @faustocoppi60 He was never hired to be captain. He gave up being a captain to come be a (super) domestique at a bigger team like his brother. The giro was an amazing bonus. That was the deal from the start.

@faustocoppi60 It's rare for a 'champion' to step back and serve others while they're still capable themselves. The only current example I can think of would be Kwiatkowski. I don't fault Yates for retiring now that he's been told on no uncertain terms that he'd never lead for GC again.

Wow, didn't expect this news: Simon Yates (33 year old) retires from pro cycling after probably his best season. 😳 Quite shocking and I'm sure there will be plenty of conspiracy theories. Congrats for a great career and good luck in the next chapter, Simon!

A message from Simon: Dear all, I have made the decision to retire from professional cycling.
This may come as a surprise to many, but it is not a decision I have made lightly. I have been thinking about it for a long time, and it now feels like the right moment to step away from the sport.
Cycling has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. From racing on the track at the Manchester Velodrome, to competing and winning on the biggest stage and representing my country at the Olympic Games, it has shaped every chapter of my life.
I am deeply proud of what I have managed to achieve and equally grateful for the lessons that came with it. While the victories will always stand out, the harder days and setbacks were just as important. They taught me resilience and patience, and made the successes mean even more.
To everyone who has supported me along the way, from the staff to my teammates, your unwavering belief and loyalty made it possible for me to realise my own dreams. Whenever I doubted myself, you never did. Thank you.
To my team, Team Visma–Lease a Bike, thank you for your understanding and support of my decision to stop now. You gave me the opportunity to rewrite my history, and through trust and belief, we did it together. Thank you.
To my family, you shared the sacrifices that came with this sport. The absences and missed birthdays were never easy, yet you understood what this journey meant to me and supported it wholeheartedly. I owe you more than I can ever properly express. Thank you.
I step away from professional cycling with deep pride and a sense of peace. This chapter has given me more than I ever imagined. Memories and moments that will stay with me long after the racing ends and for whatever comes next.
Thank you for the journey. Simon Yates

@vismaleaseabike Sad for the fans, but what a career. Stage 20 of the Giro was for me the best day of cycling in all of 2025.

“Planned obsolescence” is one of the most economically illiterate ideas people repeat. If a company intentionally makes a worse or shorter lived product, it’s handing competitors a gift. Anyone who can offer something more durable, cheaper to maintain, or better value wins customers immediately. That’s how profit seeking actually works. And here’s the irony: greed for profit is exactly why planned obsolescence makes no sense. Profit rewards satisfying customers, not frustrating them. A firm that reliably delivers longevity and value builds brand trust, repeat buyers, and market share. A firm that deliberately sabotages its own products invites replacement by someone who doesn’t.

@cafreiman 2/2 which would be inherently political. If you don't think oil wealth is representative, then exclude it from all your comparisons. If you try to prove socialism doesn't work: Denmark isn't socialist. Production is a very free market. There is just redistribution afterwards.

@cafreiman 1/2 GDP per hour worked is most reasonable if you acknowledge spare time as a valuable good. Disposable income is (also) a measure of state involvement. You would need to argue that the state spends wealth less efficiently, which would dependt on the SWF you use

Denmark doesn’t have a higher GDP per capita than the US. And the gap between the US and Norway is due to Norway’s anomalous oil wealth. If it accounted for a similar share, Norway’s GDP per capita would be lower than the US’s
Chris Freiman tweet media
Ben Burgis@BenBurgis

Two of the remaining three Nordic countries (Norway and Denmark) have higher GDP than the US, and the gap between Norway and the US is WAY higher than the gap between the US and Sweden. (We do beat Finland, so I guess that's some consolation.)

@BertilFruelund Der er også flere studier der peger på at en lovpligtig separationsperiode inden skilsmisse sænker sandsynligheden for skilsmisse.
