Still watching a potent negative tilt trough with a strengthening jetstreak to produce severe weather Thursday in the Middle East. These severe storms can bring flash flooding, large hail, damaging winds, dust storms, and isolated tornadoes.

A magnitude 7.5 earthquake struck the South Pacific near Tonga on Tuesday, the strongest quake recorded anywhere in the world so far in 2026. bit.ly/4c2Rzz7

Severe weather is likely on Thursday across parts of the Midwest. Damaging winds and hail are the main concern but there can perhaps a tornado or two.

Following the hail storm last night, I did go and collect some hail and put it in my freezer!

Some pretty sizable storms ongoing in eastern Saudi Arabia (likely supercells) heading towards the Gulf. These storms can blow dust, produce hail, damaging winds, flash flooding, and perhaps a tornado.

Yesterday was fun! Had at least 5 distinct rounds of storms move through with a lot of lightning and thunder. Also enjoyed seeing lots of familiar names on SpotterNetwork roaming around my home turf! Here’s to plenty of April showers so I can fire up my lawnmower soon! 🚜

An impressive trough is going to eject into the Middle East later this week and produce severe weather. The trough is taking a negative tilt. Storms can produce hail, damaging winds, blowing dust, flash flooding, and isolated tornadoes.

What a day. 4 rounds of storms in 4 hours, and I was never more than 20 minutes from home

Another amazing storm chase across the Commonwealth today! Ended up in State College catching multiple rounds of storms, including getting a supercell with a non-rotating wall cloud and some hail. The lightning show on the way back was peak. More of that coming tomorrow. #pawx
